Experimental first release of the Maltese Arabic Dictionary, which contains also the meanings in Italian, French, English and German. The User Interface is available in Maltese, English, Arabic and German. Over 1000 Sentences have been added. The App contains now over 700 ancient names and about 12000 items.

This application was created to assist both Maltese and Arabic speakers, facilitating a better understanding of the evolution of the Maltese language and its close relationship to Arabic. The meanings in Italian, French, English and German are also provided for each pair of Maltese / Arabic words. It serves also as a companion dictionary for learners on mobile devices. More that 1000 sentences in mt, de, en and ar are also available. Additional Information about the Alphabet, traditional names as well as a brief history of the Maltese language. More It is well known that the Maltese tongue was isolated from its parent Arabic language for over eight centuries, beginning with the Crusades and the expulsion of Arabs and Muslims who refused to convert or face death. This isolation continued until the end of British colonial rule in Malta in 1964.
