How long you'll live, and why, from WHO life tables. Nothing leaves your phone.
Expectancy estimates how long you are likely to live, and then shows you which parts of your life are moving that number and by how much.
It starts from real actuarial data: WHO life tables covering 185 countries, by sex and by single year of age. Everything you tell it adjusts that baseline using hazard ratios from published studies, and every factor names the study it came from, on its own screen, with an honest grade for how strong that evidence actually is.
YOUR ESTIMATE IS FREE, AND ALWAYS WILL BE
It is calculated from every factor you answer, whether you pay or not. Paying never changes the number and never reveals a result the app was holding back. There is no quiz that ends at a paywall.
NO ACCOUNT. NO SERVER. NOTHING LEAVES YOUR DEVICE
There is nothing to sign up for, because there is nowhere to send anything. The entire model ships inside the app. Expectancy makes no network requests while calculating. Settings has an Export button and an Erase button, and Erase actually deletes.
WHAT IT LOOKS AT
Smoking and how long ago you stopped. Weight, height and waist. Activity, strength training, steps and time spent sitting. Alcohol. Sleep and its quality. Blood pressure, cholesterol, HbA1c, resting heart rate, VO2 max and kidney function. Diagnoses you already have. How long your parents lived. Fourteen food groups. Social connection, loneliness, purpose and stress. Air quality where you live and what you cook with. How you get around, including the real per-kilometre risk of a car, a motorcycle and a bicycle. Screening, vaccination and prevention.
Every question can be skipped. A question you skip counts for nothing rather than being guessed at, and the dashboard shows how much of the model you have actually filled in.
WHAT IF
The simulator ranks the changes actually available to you and shows what each is worth in years. Only changes that apply to you: it will not offer to help a never-smoker quit smoking.
WHAT OF, NOT JUST HOW LONG
Ten-year and lifetime risk for heart disease, type 2 diabetes, dementia, stroke, lung disease, bowel cancer and atrial fibrillation, each shown beside the average for your age, and each naming the specific things pushing it up.
CONNECT HEALTH CONNECT, OR TYPE IT IN
Expectancy can read blood pressure, resting heart rate, cardio fitness, steps, exercise, sleep, height and weight from Health Connect. Read-only, never write. Nothing is applied until you have seen it and chosen it.
ONE PAYMENT, OR A WEEKLY SUBSCRIPTION
Buy it once and it is yours permanently. Or subscribe weekly with a seven-day free trial if you would rather try it first. The paywall tells you roughly how many weeks the subscription takes to cost more than the one-off, because that is the comparison you are actually making.
WHAT IT IS NOT
Not a diagnosis and not medical advice. Not a prediction about you: the distribution is wide, and the app always shows the range around the headline rather than a single confident date. Where an association is probably not causal, it says so instead of telling you to change it.
