About this app
Professional-grade SLM
Measuring sound is what we do. NoiSee – worthy of the name "Sound Level Meter". NoiSee is an intuitive, professional-grade sound level meter for Android, with all the tools expected from a professional ANSI or IEC compliant sound level meter. All filters, averaging modes and statistics meet or exceed the class 2 requirements of the relevant ANSI and IEC standards. It's specifically designed to meet the requirements of occupational health and live sound measurements. It was built by a team with over 20 years of experience in calibration, who own a sound level meter calibration laboratory meeting the ISO 17025 requirements. The same calibration equipment was used to develop this app. CALIBRATED PHONES NoiSee calibrates the built-in microphone of these phones automatically, both its level and its frequency response. No setup needed. • Samsung Galaxy S10e, S22, S23+, S23 Ultra, S25, A35, A54, XCover7 Pro • Google Pixel 3 XL, 7a • Xiaomi 12 Pro, Redmi Note 13 Pro 4G • Nothing CMF Phone 2 Pro • Sony Xperia 10 VI Only the exact models listed are calibrated: S22 means the base S22, not the S22+ or S22 Ultra, because their microphones differ. On other phones the level is only an estimate and can be more than 10 dB off. For reliable readings, use an external measurement microphone (see below). Calibrations are measured in an anechoic chamber used for calibrating professional sound level meters, and checked for differences between units of the same model. Microphone sensitivity varies very little between units, so we don't recommend changing the calibration on listed phones. NoiSee makes full use of your phone's dynamic range. Most phones measure from a noise floor of about 35 dB(A) up to about 95 dB(A), though the range differs between devices. Readings are most accurate between 40 Hz and 12.5 kHz. SOUND LEVEL METER • All relevant time weightings: Fast, Slow, Impulse and Equivalent • All relevant parameters: Leq, LCpeak, LAFmin, LASmax and more • History (profile) view of all relevant parameters • All statistics of the current measurement (ISO 1996 percentiles), also shown as a histogram • Spectrum view: time history of the frequency- and time-weighted level • Octave analysis (CPB) carefully designed according to IEC 61260 and ANSI S1.11, from 1/1 to 1/24 octave • Parameters and UI optimized for live events and live audio monitoring, including running LAeq over 5, 10, 15 and 20 minutes NOISE AT WORK Compliant with ISO 9612, OSHA and NIOSH. • Noise dose, elapsed time and LEX,8h • Projected dose and time to reach 100% dose (hh:mm:ss) • Custom threshold, reference level and exchange rate EXTERNAL MICROPHONES • Tested with the MicW i436 and D236, calibrated measurement microphones that comply with the Class 2 (IEC 61672) standard • Also supports the MicW i437C and Dayton Audio iMM-6 and iMM-6C • Import the calibration file that came with your microphone • Automatic calibration with an acoustic calibrator • Our robust native driver for USB-C dongles lets the i436 measure up to 105 dB LAeq and 135 dB LZpeak. It's generic and should work with any dongle or adapter IN-APP PURCHASES Premium octave analysis: • Non-standard time weightings (1/16 s to 16 s) • Spectrum analysis in ⅓ octave or finer Logging: • One-second logging of spectrum and total parameters • Profile view beyond 2 minutes • CSV export Recording: • 24-bit WAV or AAC
