Measure each room once and Paint Calculator works out the paint and primer for the whole job, then the cans to buy, so you are not left with a shelf of half-used cans. How it works • Add a room for each space you are painting: length, width and wall height, the doors and windows, any other wall area you are leaving bare, and the number of coats. • Turn on "Paint the ceiling" for the rooms that need it. Ceilings can take their own ceiling paint, with a separate list of cans. • Set your paint's coverage from its data sheet, the extra for waste and touch-ups, the area of one door and one window, and primer if the walls need it. These fold away under "Coverage, waste and primer" once they are right. • Results update as you type: paintable wall area, ceiling area, paint and primer needed including waste, and the cans to buy. Cans you can actually buy The total becomes a shopping list. In US units the app uses 5 gal pails, 1 gal cans and quarts. In metric, pick the can sizes your store sells: 10, 5, 2.5 and 1 L (as in the UK) or 20, 10, 4 and 1 L (as in India). The app picks the mix with the least paint left over, then the fewest containers. Switch between US (ft, gal) and metric (m, L) whenever you like; what you typed is converted, not lost. Share any job as text. Free, with an optional Pro for painters Every calculation, result, explanation and unit system is free, with no ads and no sign-in. The free app keeps 2 saved jobs at a time. Paint Calculator Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, and adds: • Unlimited saving: keep a job for every house or client • PDF estimate: a clean PDF of everything you entered, every result and total, the unit system and the assumptions behind each number • Your own defaults: start every new job with the coverage, waste and primer settings you use most Pro never changes or hides a result. Your jobs stay on your phone Everything is worked out and saved on the device. There is no account, no advertising and no analytics, and saved jobs are left out of cloud backups. At launch the app asks our server whether this version is still supported; that request carries nothing about you or your jobs. Everything else works offline. Please check before you buy Results are estimates. Real coverage depends on the texture and porosity of the surface, the color change and how the paint goes on. Check the spreading rate on your paint's data sheet, and buy one batch for the whole job so the color matches.
