First release of Launcher Switch.
Make the launcher you installed your TV's home screen. Guided setup, easy undo.
Launcher Switch makes Home open the launcher you installed. One button in the app brings your TV's own home screen back. Some TVs keep opening their own home screen, even after you install a new launcher. This app changes that with your TV's built-in debugging connection. It shows you how to turn debugging on, step by step, then connects on the TV itself. You don't need a computer. Nothing changes until you confirm. Before the switch, the app shows you exactly what will change: • Your launcher becomes your home screen. Home, startup and Back to home all open it. • Your TV's own home screen (Google TV or Android TV) is turned off for you. Nothing is deleted from the TV. • Undo any time. One button in this app puts everything back exactly as it was. • A system update can bring your TV's own home screen back. It depends on your TV's maker. If it happens, open this app and switch again. HOW TO UNDO Open Launcher Switch and select "Bring back the original home". Your TV's own home screen comes back in one step, and your launcher stays installed. KEEP THE APP INSTALLED After the switch, this app is your safety net. • After every restart, it checks that Home still opens your launcher. • If your TV's own home screen comes back, the app asks whether to switch again or keep it. • If your launcher is ever uninstalled, Home opens this app's backup home, with all your apps on it. • To remove this app, use "Undo and uninstall this app" in its settings. It puts the original home back first. SUPPORTED TVS You need an Android TV or Google TV device on Android 9 or newer, a launcher you have already installed, and access to Developer options on the TV. Some TV makers hide or lock Developer options, and on those TVs the switch can't run. The app checks your TV before anything changes and tells you if it can't switch it. PAID ONCE You pay once on Google Play. There is no subscription and nothing to buy inside the app. If the app can't switch your TV, you can ask Google Play for a refund shortly after you buy. Google Play's refund policy: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/15574908 You can also write to us at hello@middlepoint.io. YOUR DATA The app has no account and no ads. It shares nothing unless you agree. When you first start setup, it asks once whether to send usage and crash data to help us fix setup problems, and you can change your answer in the app's Settings. Its connection to the TV's debugging service stays inside the TV. Launcher Switch is made by MiddlePoint, the makers of TV Control for Parents. It is not affiliated with Google or with the makers of any launcher.
