PlanTrip Audio Tours turns a drive into a guided tour. Download a tour, press Start, and put the phone down. Your phone's location starts each story on its own as you arrive, through your car's speakers. HOW IT WORKS • Download a tour before you leave. It then plays without a signal. • Press Start while parked and connect your phone to the car's Bluetooth audio. • Drive. On the way to each stop you hear its history. When you arrive, you hear what you are looking at. • Stories keep playing with the screen locked, so the phone can stay in your pocket or the console. WHAT YOU GET • A route map with numbered stops, so you can see the whole tour before you go. • Short stories written from cited local history, with music between them. • Browse and play any story by hand, without changing your place in the tour. • Pause, replay or end the tour at any time. Your progress is saved. • Tours in both directions where the route allows it. FIRST TOUR: MISSION VIEJO, CALIFORNIA A free tour of a city that was planned from scratch: the Civic Center, Oso Creek, the Nadadores pool, home of Olympic swimmers and divers, Lake Mission Viejo, Florence Joyner Olympiad Park, Crown Valley and Saddleback College. About 15 miles and 21 minutes of narration. FOR TESLA DRIVERS (OPTIONAL) Connect your Tesla account and Start sends the tour's destinations to the car's navigation while you are parked. The app only sends destinations. It does not drive, unlock or otherwise control the car. LOCATION AND PRIVACY The app uses your location only while a tour is running, including with the screen locked if you allow it, to play each story at the right place. A notification shows whenever that is happening. During a tour, the route is sent to Plantrip so we can correct story timing; it is stored under a random number for that drive, not your name or account, and it is never sold or used for advertising. You can choose "Only while the app is open" instead. No ads. No account needed. Narration is AI-voiced from scripts we write, check against sources and listen to before release.
