Sifto is a food scanner and ingredient checker. Scan the barcode on a packet and Sifto reads the label against published rules - then shows you the rule it applied, with the authority, the section number, and a link to read it yourself. NO BLACK-BOX GRADES There is no score out of 100 in this app. No letter. No coloured ring. Every other ingredient checker hands down a verdict and leaves you to trust it; Sifto hands you a count of what it flagged, split into two plain groups - above a published threshold, and present in the ingredients - and every single flag opens the rule behind it. They are not a paid feature and they never will be. We never say safe. Check the physical label. BUILT FOR THE AISLE Point, scan, read. A product you have scanned before opens again on a phone with no bars, so the chest-freezer aisle is not a problem. Your shelf remembers what you bought, and the second shop is twice as fast as the first. NO BARCODE? PHOTOGRAPH THE PANEL When Sifto does not have a product yet, point the camera at the ingredient list and the Nutrition Facts box. Sifto reads the printed panel and applies the same cited rules to it, so you get the same report with the same citations. It reads labels - it does not guess at a plate of food, because a cooked meal has no ingredient list to check a rule against. Two label photos a day on the free tier, ten on Pro.
