Turn your phone into a simple magnetic metal detector and EMF meter. Metal Finder reads changes from your phone's magnetometer and turns them into a clear live signal, sound and vibration alerts. Use it as a magnetic field detector to explore nearby sources such as iron and steel, screws, nails, rebar, magnets, speakers, batteries and electronic components. Move the top edge of your phone slowly and close to the surface, then watch the 0–100 signal level rise as the magnetic field changes. Helpful tools include: - live magnetic signal level and baseline reset - sound and vibration alerts - classic, analog and digital detector styles - a guide to finding your phone's magnetic sensor When checking a wall, the app may react to magnetic screws or nails that can be one clue to a likely stud position. It does not detect wood directly, confirm a stud centre, show depth, find pipes or live wires, or tell you that drilling is safe. Metal Finder measures magnetic-field changes; it does not identify what caused them. It cannot reliably find gold, silver, copper, brass, aluminium, most coins or non-magnetic objects. It is not a replacement for a professional gold detector, wall scanner, voltage detector or safety inspection. Results depend on your phone. A built-in magnetometer is required; the app clearly reports when no usable magnetic sensor is available. Remove thick or magnetic phone cases, start away from strong magnets, and scan slowly for the best results.
