About this app
Track expiration dates for makeup and skincare, before and after opening.
Beauty Stuff keeps track of when your cosmetics expire. Two dates matter for a beauty product, and they are not the same. There is the expiration date printed on the box, and there is the period after opening — the little open-jar symbol with 6M or 12M on it, which starts counting the day you unseal the package. Beauty Stuff keeps both and tells you which one runs out first. QUESTIONS IT ANSWERS • Is this mascara still good, or was it opened last winter? • When did I start this foundation? • What does the 12M on the jar actually mean? • Which of the things on my shelf have already expired? • Do I own this already, or am I about to buy a second one? • How much did I spend on skincare this year, and how much of it went in the bin unused? WHAT GOES IN THE BAG Primers, foundation, concealer, powder, blush and highlighter, eyes and lips. Cleansers, toners, serums, moisturisers, exfoliants, eye creams, masks and sun protection. Shampoo, conditioner and hair treatments. Body lotion, scrubs, hands and feet. Nail polish and perfume. The categories are already there and nested, so nothing has to be sorted out by hand. FREE, AS IT HAS BEEN SINCE 2018 • Products with photos, brands, categories, notes and prices • Expiry date and period after opening in one place — the app works out what is left • Reminders before a product expires, at a time you choose • A home screen widget showing what is running out • Statistics with charts: what you spent, and how much of it expired unused • A year in review and a collage of your products — both as a picture you can share • A shelf view: products as covers instead of rows • Light and dark theme, or whichever your system is using • Favourites, an archive that remembers why you parted with a product, and a shopping list • Search by name, brand, category or note, and filters by brand and category • Backup to a file you choose, and restore from it WITH A SUBSCRIPTION • Expiry date and the “12M” symbol — from a photo of the pack • Care routines and warnings about clashing ingredients • Collage templates • Syncing between devices THE SECOND PLAN — THE SAME, PLUS AI • A product is created from a photo of the pack • Ingredients are read from the label — with roles and allergens • Advice about your collection • 50 AI requests a month, up to 8 of them advice There is a free trial before the first charge, and you can cancel any time in Google Play. WHAT STAYS THE SAME No ads, ever. The bag lives on your phone and the app works offline; an account and syncing are yours to switch on. Photos and product lists are sent to a server only for the AI features, only after you agree to it, and you can turn that off in Settings. Your notes are never sent anywhere.
