Your imported books, web feeds and audiobooks in one quiet library
ReadStream is a reading app for people who take their books seriously. If you download books from Patreon, Project Gutenberg, Royal Road or anywhere else, this is where they live now. I built it because I kept losing my place. Chapters scattered across Word, epub and PDF files, no memory of where I'd got to, no easy way to build a series into something I could actually follow. ReadStream fixes that. • Import books and chapters from files — epub, PDF, Word and more — and organise them into series and books the way they were meant to be read • Follow web feeds from sites like Royal Road or Project Gutenberg and pull in new chapters as they appear, so your library stays current without you having to think about it • Your place in every book is saved automatically. Not just the chapter — your exact position. Close the app, come back a week later, you're right where you left off • Built-in text-to-speech means the app can read to you when your eyes have had enough. Same library, same position tracking, just your ears doing the work instead • Offline reading as standard. Your books are on your device, not hiding behind a server somewhere • Comfortable reading themes including a warm paper mode that sits easier on the eyes than a bright white screen at night • No account required. No sync to a cloud you didn't ask for. Your library stays on your device, under your control • Tablet and phone layouts that make sense for the screen you're actually using Most reading apps are built around subscriptions, recommendations and reasons to keep you in the app. ReadStream isn't trying to do any of that. There's no feed of suggestions, no badges, no nudges. It's a library app. You bring the books, it remembers where you are. It won't replace a streaming service if that's what you're after. It doesn't sell books or connect to your Kindle. What it does — organising imported books and followed feeds into one calm place that always knows your page — it does properly. If your reading life is scattered across a downloads folder, three different apps and a browser tab you meant to get back to, ReadStream is worth a look.
