Koru VPN Lite is a fast VPN proxy for Android, free and simple: tap once and your connection is encrypted. No account, no sign-up. The optional Koru Premium subscription (in-app purchase) adds our own fast servers. A fast VPN proxy for everyday use. A secure VPN for public Wi-Fi in cafes, airports, hotels and campuses. And a lite app with a small download that stays out of your way. HOW IT WORKS 1. Open the app and tap the power button. 2. Koru VPN tests the servers and picks the fastest one for you. 3. Accept Android's VPN request the first time. You're connected. Want a specific country? Tap Fastest location under the button and pick one from the list. WHERE THE SERVERS COME FROM Koru VPN Lite connects to free public relay servers of the VPN Gate Academic Experiment, run by the University of Tsukuba in Japan. Volunteers around the world run these servers. The list changes during the day, so countries and speeds vary. The optional Koru Premium subscription connects to our own WireGuard servers, which keep no traffic logs. PRIVACY, HONESTLY • Free servers: no account, and the app sends us nothing. Premium (optional subscription) sends a purchase token, a random device ID and a public key to our server to verify the subscription and set up the connection. • The tunnel between your phone and the VPN server is encrypted. • Servers are run by VPN Gate volunteers. VPN Gate and the server operators keep connection logs to prevent abuse. • The server operator can see traffic that is not separately encrypted (for example, websites without HTTPS). Use HTTPS sites for anything sensitive. • To list and test servers, the app contacts vpngate.net and those servers from your real IP address, and asks Cloudflare to show your public IP. • A VPN improves your privacy on the network you use. It does not make you anonymous. HOW THE APP USES VPNSERVICE Koru VPN Lite uses Android's VpnService to create an encrypted tunnel (SSTP over TLS) from your device to the VPN Gate server you connect to. While connected, all internet traffic, except apps you exclude, goes through that tunnel. The app does not change, inject or redirect your traffic for advertising.
