Nawtara: Sheet Music Scanner

Your sheet music, played aloud, quarter tones included. Nawtara is a sheet music scanner and player for Arabic and Western scores. Open a PDF, take a photo or scan a page. It reads every note, half-flats and half-sharps included, and plays the piece so you can learn it by ear with the notes in front of you. HEAR EVERY QUARTER TONE Nawtara reads Arabic notation: half-flats and half-sharps in the key signature and in the bars, as the maqam asks. The note you hear lights up in brass, its name underneath: do ré mi, letters, or the oriental names (Rast, Dukah, Sikah). A good fit for oud, qanun, violin and piano sheet music, and for anyone learning the maqams. READS THE PAGE AS PRINTED Repeats, endings and key changes are played as written. When the music OCR is unsure of a bar, it says so and shows you that bar on your own page. Fix an accidental, a key signature, a rhythm or a triplet in a few taps, and hear it at once.
