It keeps getting better! I’ve had this app for a long time and it keeps getting better! The UI has all come together with its ease of use. Take some time with it before you get on set, there’s great features to keep your production organized. Not just finding the shot. It has been one of the most used film apps I’ve seen. Get it!

Worth Every Penny for Working Professionals Every time I open this app, I discover some new functionality that just works exactly the way I need it to. The upfront cost is more than most apps you’d find here, but if you are a working photographer, cinematographer, or other production professional, this app can easily pay for itself the first time you use it. It is incredibly well thought out, feature packed, and clearly designed by people who understand what actually happens in the field. What impresses me most is that there always seems to be some little capability I did not even realize was there until I need it. I am in the middle of a location scout as I write this, and once again I discovered a feature that immediately solved a problem and made the scout more useful. Artemis has become one of those professional tools that has earned its place in the kit. It is exceptionally capable, thoughtfully designed, and absolutely worth the investment.
Our best in set tool When Artemis first debuted it didn’t take long for us to mostly shed every other old style and cumbersome finder - be they lens-on or the viewfinder type. Working as we do with minimum 3 cameras, and often more on Landman and Lioness, the time savings are significant given we do in the order of 60+ set ups a day. The fact my operators, the director, myself and indeed every crew member has a viewfinder in their pocket and can immediately see what we are aiming for is a godsend on set and invaluable in prep. I now have the art and location departments using them for previs and scouting. And it just keeps getting better. 5 Stars !!!
Invaluable tool We use it everyday on set and when we’re scouting and prepping. It flows from the Director to to the loader “We won’t leave home without it “ Andrew R .
The gold standard for a digital viewfinder There’s a reason this one is trusted by top cinematographers and has the awards to back it up. The camera and lens database is comprehensive, the framing is accurate, and having every lens in my pocket makes communication on set so much easier. Manual image control, LUT previews, custom frame-lines, and streaming to nearby crew are all things I use constantly. The Helios sun-tracking addition is fantastic for planning exteriors. Fast, precise, and fully customizable — it genuinely helps me shoot a better film.
Subscriptions?… seriously??… So. This app a few years ago was thirty dollars. Them. To upgrade it. Was another thirty dollars. Now… it’s becoming subscription based?… This is getting deleted. Cadrage is a much better app. And a one time purchase.
Been using it for years now Had some hiccups along the way, but it’s been pretty solid for a while now. Use it on every tech scout.
Very useful app with fantastic support. My friend who’s a cinematographer recommended this app and I have to say it’s pretty easy to use even if you’re not a professional. Really helps setting up and framing shots for YouTube videos. And the support from the developer is the best I’ve ever received.
Very good Everything is very cool, especially the viewing angle for framing, I own a Nikon ZR camera and I really want you to add it in future updates
