More sun, less guessing. Shadows got a big makeover: they now appear fast and reliably, wherever you are in the world. The map glides more smoothly, the app starts quicker, and long morning and evening shadows reach as far as they really do. No signal, or something missing? The app says so and tries again by itself. On iPhone Duo and iPad, a handy side panel shows sunny spots, café details and the weather. Search looks where you're looking, a tap on a café always opens it, and shared spots show up as pins you can tap. See you in the sun!
Find your spot in the sun. Coffee in the Sun shows you exactly where sunlight hits and where shadows fall, street by street, in real time. So you pick the sunny seat before you leave home. LIVE SHADOW MAP Watch building shadows move across the map as the sun moves. Real solar calculations on real building heights, anywhere in the world. HOW LONG THE SUN STAYS Tap any place and see its day at a glance. Sunny until 17:40, back in the sun at 19:10, and a sun score that tells you how much of the daylight this spot actually gets. THE SUNNIEST SPOTS AROUND YOU A ranked list of the places near you that are in the sun right now, with how long it lasts. No interpreting a map, just an answer. SUN HOURS FOR ANY ADDRESS How much sun does this address really get, month by month? Longest day, shortest day, and every month in between. Handy for a terrace, genuinely useful when you are viewing a house. SUN ALARM Get a notification when the sun reaches your favourite spot, with the temperature and whether it will actually be clear. We look three days ahead and stay quiet when it will be grey. TIME TRAVEL Coffee tomorrow at three? Scrub to any hour on any date and see exactly where the sun will be. ON YOUR HOME AND LOCK SCREEN The shadow map as a widget, free for everyone. Follow the sun live on your lock screen and watch it count down to the moment it reaches you. WEATHER AND UV Temperature, UV index, wind, humidity and a seven day forecast. Knowing where the sun falls is only half the question. CAFES, TERRACES AND SPORTS Filter for cafes, restaurants, bakeries, breweries and wine bars. Or for tennis courts, football pitches, boules, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, skateparks, golf, outdoor gyms and playgrounds. Works worldwide, in 36 languages. Your location stays on your device. Free: the shadow map, today's sun timeline, the five sunniest spots nearby, three time jumps a day, the widgets and the venue filters.
