WHAT'S NEW: MEET COURSES: A new Courses tab, in place of Games, brings guided lessons to Guitar Buddy. Each course takes one skill and works through it step by step, with short explanations, animated fretboard demos you can hear, and practice that builds on what came before. NOTES ON THE FRETBOARD: The first course teaches you to find any note on any string straight away, without counting frets. You learn one note at a time, at a slow metronome tempo, so you practice remembering the position instead of working it out. You start with the natural notes, move on to sharps and flats, then cover the upper neck and finally the whole neck. The intro and its demos are free to try, and the full course is a one-time in-app purchase. FIND IT & NAME IT: Graded checkpoints test you in both directions. Find It asks you to tap where a note lives; Name It shows you a position and asks which note it is. You'll know for sure whether a note is solid or still needs work. OCTAVE SHAPES & FRET BOXES: An Advanced chapter goes further. Octave Shapes show you how to jump from a note to the same note on another string. Fret Boxes take every note inside a four-fret window and drill them in random order, across the lower and upper neck. PLAY A MELODY: Use what you've learned on real tunes. Read the note names, find them on the neck, and play along in the tune's own rhythm, from "Ode to Joy" and "Twinkle, Twinkle" to folk favorites and classical pieces. Tap Hear It to listen to a tune before you play it. DAILY MIX & TROUBLE SPOTS: A quick Daily Mix keeps all your notes fresh in about three minutes a day. Trouble Spots tracks the notes you miss and the ones you mix up, shows a heatmap of the weak areas on the neck, and builds review drills for exactly those spots. BUILD SPEED: Once you can recall the notes reliably, raise the metronome step by step from 40 to 80 BPM. With Your Own Practice you can also set up a session with exactly the notes, strings, neck area and tempo you want. SEE THE ANSWER IN THE JOURNEY: The Journey level completion screen now shows you the correct answer, so every miss teaches you something. BETTER ON IPAD, IPHONE DUO & MAC: Layouts now adapt to the space you have, whether that's iPad Split View, opening and closing iPhone Duo, or resizing a window on the Mac. Sidebars show your options instead of empty pages, long pages no longer stretch across wide screens, and navigation on the Mac is smoother.
