MarkUp 1.6.3 adds quicker ways to format text and manage files, and fixes a few small things that got in the way. Format what you select • Select some text, then long press it on iPhone or iPad, or right-click it on iPad or Mac, to make it bold, italic, underlined, or struck through. • This works in Word and Rich Text documents, and in Markdown, LaTeX, screenplay, and HTML files, where MarkUp adds the right markup for you. Choose the same option again to remove it. • On the Mac, these options sit right at the top of the menu. Select several files at once • Tap the checkmark button at the top of Recents, or hold Command and click, to select several files in the sidebar. • Remove them from Recents or move them all to the Trash in one go. Also new • Reopen with Encoding shows the encodings beside a preview of your file, so you can see which one reads correctly before you choose it. • The MarkUp Guide in Settings → Help is now a Word document, with a new section on formatting what you select. • Turning on LaTeX Equations for Word documents now explains what changes first: an equation you edit is saved from its LaTeX version, so formatting LaTeX can't express is lost. Fixes • Prices like $5 and $10 no longer turn into an equation in Word documents, or when a file is converted to Word. • Deleting an item from a Markdown list no longer makes the list below it flash. • Undoing a change in a list puts your cursor back where it was, instead of selecting the rest of the list and jumping to the end of the file.
