The Field, rebuilt as a gallery. The community is now a gallery, the same one The Ritual shows on the Mac. – Swipe between its rooms: This Week, Following, the Wall, Places, and a room for each film. – Nothing is ranked. Prints hang to be looked at, not scored. – Open a print and its room is lit by the photograph's own colours. Tap it to see it full screen and pinch in close. – Your home has a threshold print at the door, where you choose what shows. It holds your prints, your books, the prints you've kept and a few words about you. – Make a book from your prints, send letters, and find people to follow. A new darkroom. The editor now starts from the print. Choose the film in its own room and the paper in another, and compare before and after at a touch. What you see is what you develop. The viewfinder now shows the print you will get: the same film under the same light, as bright as you saw it. It learns each of your lenses as you shoot. One darkroom with The Ritual. The Moment now develops with The Ritual's films and papers, so a photograph prints the same on iPhone and Mac. Many films are new. A few older ones, CineStill and the Latent house films among them, can no longer be chosen, but every photograph you made with them keeps its film. Latent Engine 3.1. On iPhones with 8 GB of memory, new photographs develop in Latent's own engine: finer detail, cleaner colour, light that holds. Quicker to the print. Large raw files open at once, zoom and pan smoothly, and a 48 MP photograph exports in about a minute. Takes. Film scratches join dust and flicker, along with many fixes. Your photographs keep exactly the look you gave them.
The Moment is a film camera, an album and a darkroom for iPhone and iPad. Load a film and see it in the viewfinder before you press the shutter. Take the picture — your RAW is kept underneath. Then develop it the slow way, finish it as a real print, and write on its back. Everything gathers into rolls by day, so the album becomes a journal you return to. SEE THE FILM BEFORE THE SHUTTER Your chosen film is in the viewfinder before you press. Swipe across the glass to change it. The Moment records RAW originals, up to 48 MP ProRAW, leaving room to return to a photograph and develop it with intention. Load a roll of 24 or 36 if you like: its frames wait in the camera until you rewind. Open the camera from the Lock Screen, Control Center or Camera Control. LATENT (EXPERIMENTAL) Our own way of making a photograph. One press gathers several frames into a single negative that keeps about two more stops of light in lamps, windows and sky. DEVELOP, DON'T DECORATE The darkroom is built around Film, Light and Paper. Shape the negative, work with exposure and colour, choose the grain and the paper, crop on the Easel, and compare with First Light. A PRINT WITH A BODY Finish makes the photograph a real print from real materials: the sheet, folds and wear, dust on the negative, and the light it is held under. White borders, rounded corners and a deckle edge. Slide mounts, instant frames, cabinet cards and film gates grow around your whole photograph. Dates the way cameras and labs made them. Life ages a print the way a wallet, a shoebox, an album or a sunny window would. WORDS ON THE BACK Turn any print over and write on its back. Your words come back: on this day, a year ago, and in a diary of your days. Save the back beside the print. TWO WAYS TO PHOTOGRAPH MOTION A take is a short moving photograph made through the film in your camera, with the sound of the room. Develop it in the photograph's own words — film, light and paper — then choose takes, put them in order, cut them on a line and print them as one movie. Or flip the Film · Tape switch and pick up the camcorder. Video8, VHS-C and Hi8 each carry their own picture and sound at sixty fields a second. Every cassette plays on its own deck, with tracking, colour, wear, the date, fades and titles. Dub tapes onto a fresh one, and print one take or the whole tape. Import a video and develop it like a take. KEEP A PHOTOGRAPHIC LIFE Frames and takes gather into rolls by day. Give them names and words, revisit them by place, and watch the album form chapters across months and years. The Archive keeps everything: films, movies, cassettes, books and words. Recently Deleted keeps removed work for 30 days. FRIENDS, NOT FOLLOWERS Place work in the public Field, answer a Versos call with one photograph and words on its back, or invite a few people into a private Circle — a small table of friends — and send them a sealed Envelope. Notes read as letters, people are named rather than counted, and every photographer has a home. A complete ledger shows what has left your library and where it went. START WITH A REAL CAMERA AND DARKROOM The camera, your private library, First Light, five starter films, four starter papers, takes, movies, words on the back, core development, a taste of Finish, printing and Back Up Library are free, with no account. Optional membership opens the complete film and paper shelf, all of Finish and Life, Extended Light, Latent negatives, Cinema Negative, Tape, the Projector, Circle creation and Envelopes. If membership ends, your photographs remain viewable and exportable. Your private library stays on your device. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Nothing leaves your library unless you choose to share it. Sharing and membership use an account, and what they keep is listed in the app's privacy details.
