Vesper 1.8.1 introduces a dedicated interface for iPhone Duo alongside warmer paper, deeper ink, and smoother motion across every iPhone. Unfolded flat on iPhone Duo, Commands and your chat sit on the left while pages and web sources open on the right. Half-open like a book, your chat stays on the right page just as it looked on the cover, while pages, Settings, or Commands open on the left. As you fold or unfold, Vesper tracks the hinge in real time so the layout glides smoothly with your hand. Interactive tools, charts, and pages Vesper builds in your chat now sit on clean sheets of warm paper printed in ink. Every surface across the app has been tuned with warmer paper, deeper ink, and clearer glass, including a new Warm Light switch in Settings that removes harsh blue light across the screen. The composer now expands and settles smoothly as you type, menus rise directly from the buttons that open them, and Model and Effort pickers respond immediately to your tap. In Commands, your primary navigation stays pinned at the top while recent conversations scroll beneath, and you can now ask Vesper to open any website directly inside the app. Finally, Vesper's three on-device models are now named Glyph, Quire, and Codex—joined by Margin for web reading and Steno for dictation—and Vesper's memory now automatically replaces outdated facts when things change.
Everything you expect from a modern AI assistant, running entirely on your iPhone in a clean paper-and-ink design. Ask questions, search the web, analyze photos and documents, dictate with your voice, and build interactive tools right in your chat. Vesper's AI models run on your device, so there is no account to create, no subscription, and no cloud server reading what you write. Draft emails, summarize documents, write code, or work through hard questions offline or online. When you want current information, turn on Web search and Vesper searches DuckDuckGo and Wikipedia, reads the pages on your iPhone, and answers with sources. Ask for a calculator, a timer, a chart, or a small tool and watch Vesper write it live onto a sheet of paper that runs offline inside your conversation. Attach a photo, scan, or document and Vesper reads the words and looks at the image itself. Tap the microphone beside Send and speak naturally to transcribe your voice on your phone. Vesper can also add reminders and calendar events with your confirmation, and keep short notes on what matters to you—updating its memory automatically when facts change. You choose the model and thinking depth that fit the job. Glyph gives fast, everyday answers that go easy on your battery. Quire takes a longer breath for harder questions. Codex is the largest model, built for complex work when you can wait. Set Effort to Fast, Balanced, or Thorough, or turn on Auto and let a stronger installed model step in only when a question calls for it. Set in crisp New York serif over warm paper and clear glass, Vesper reads like ink on a page, day or night, with a Warm Light mode that cuts harsh blue light. On a standard iPhone, Vesper keeps a focused single column and opens into a multi-pane desk when turned sideways on larger models. On iPhone Duo, Vesper adapts to how you hold it: use it closed on the cover screen, hold it half-open like a book with your chat on the right page and your sidebar or pages on the left, or unfold it flat into a full side-by-side workspace. Vesper is private from the start. There is no sign-in, no tracking, and Vesper's App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected. Web search, location, and calendar access stay off until you turn them on.
