Can you build a team good enough to go undefeated? Football 17-0 deals you a random decade and a real franchise for every position on the roster. Pick a player who genuinely played for that team in that era, fill all nine spots, then simulate a 17-game season and find out how close you get to perfect. Every name, every statistic, every franchise is real. Nothing is invented. HOW IT WORKS • SPIN — Each position gives you a random decade and a real team from it. A powerhouse from the sixties. A juggernaut from the 2000s. Whatever you are dealt, you play. • PICK — Choose one player from that team and era. Their stats are from that era, not their career best. • BUILD — Nine positions: four on offense, four on defense, and a kicker. • SIMULATE — A full 17-game season, played out game by game. • 17-0? — Going undefeated is rare. That is the entire point. REAL FOOTBALL HISTORY, NOT MADE-UP NUMBERS Rosters cover 1960 through 2026 — seven decades of real franchises, in the eras they actually existed. Clubs appear under the names they carried at the time, because several of them moved city or changed name across the decades and the history should say so. Season-by-season statistics go back to 1999. For earlier eras, we do not invent numbers — the card tells you plainly, and the player is judged on his real career record: Hall of Fame selections, Pro Bowls, All-Pro honors, seasons and games played. TWO WAYS TO PLAY Stats Visible — every card shows real season numbers and career honors. The list is ranked best-first as a starting point, and the numbers are right there to argue with it. Stats Hidden — names only. No stats, no honors, no hints, and the list is alphabetical so its order gives nothing away. How well do you really know your football history? A SIMULATION THAT LOOKS LIKE FOOTBALL Scores are built from touchdowns and field goals, not pulled from a hat. Across 170,000 simulated games the average score is 21.3, real football averages 21.8. Favorites lose one game in five, blowouts get damped, and shutouts happen 1.5% of the time. A great roster wins more. It does not win everything.
