A smoother first battle, new upgrades sooner, a real leaderboard, and a battlefield that fits your phone. 习 LEARN ON THE BOARD New to xiangqi? Two short lessons on the board, no reading. The first walks you through all seven pieces from their home squares, one arrowed move at a time, through check and checkmate. The second shows how war works here: damage, chains and the move limit. Replay either lesson any time from the war table or the camp menu; your campaign waits at that exact turn. Already know the game? Skip straight to war. 速 NEW UPGRADES SOONER Mastery tiers 2 and 3 now open around your second and fifth campaign with a piece, so the shop keeps changing from your first week. 手 DRAG TO MOVE Drag a piece to its square, or tap it and tap a green dot. Taps are more forgiving, and the board tells you when the enemy is thinking. 战 YOUR FIRST CAMPAIGN Your first campaign is a three-battle skirmish. Win it to unlock the full campaign. Fall short and you see exactly how close you came, with Play again one tap away. 天下 LEADERBOARDS Game Center leaderboards for your best campaign and for each day's Gauntlet. 屏 FITS ONE SCREEN On iPhone the whole battle fits without scrolling: stratagems and the War Altar fold into a tray beneath the board, with each scroll's description and Use button right there. The board no longer shifts between turns, and Undo works mid-battle. 声 SOUND ON SILENT Sound and music play with the silent switch on, and stop when you leave the app. Mute either from the top bar. 棋 ON THE BOARD Upgraded pieces on the art sets wear a bronze, jade or gold rim. A stalemate is announced as 困毙, a general is never captured, and the first shop's spirit is free. From the Bronze Seal up, the last ante's generals think deeper.
The enemy plays perfect, classical Xiangqi. You don't have to. JIANGJUN is a single-player roguelite built on strict Chinese Chess. March a small, persistent army of named heroes through nine escalating battles. Your fallen soldiers stay dead — forever, across every campaign — in the Hall of Fallen Heroes. • Strict Xiangqi rules: the enemy always plays the canonical game • Your army breaks the rules — additive upgrades, Spirits on the five-slot War Altar, one-shot Stratagems from the Thirty-Six Stratagems • Every battle has a target: bring the enemy commander's HP to zero, or checkmate him for the finishing blow — the Shadow General himself awaits in the final battle • Three ways to muster: the classic army, the drafting tent, or the hidden war • Boss battles every third round with announced gimmicks • Lasting progression: commander ranks, piece mastery, the Art of War Codex, daily campaigns and unlockable war tables • Procedural music and sound that build with the battle, plus seed-reproducible runs — no internet required No ads. No accounts. No data collected. Just you, a cracked board, and a general who must fall.
