Adding several of the same thing no longer means tapping the same chip over and over. The quick-add grids count instead — say how many bedrooms or smoke detectors you have, and change your mind before anything is saved. "Did it" now records what you did. Marking the furnace filter done files it as "Changed the furnace filter" rather than a bare "Serviced", so the same job done four times reads as four entries instead of four identical ones. Sharing a house no longer means finding the sync setting first. Sharing is where you'd look for it, in More, and it offers to turn sync on when you use it. The example home now says so on every screen rather than just one, so it's clear which house you're adding to. It also has a bit more in it. New: a water filter category, with the right maintenance for a whole-house cartridge, an under-sink filter or a reverse-osmosis unit. Steadwell still works entirely offline, still has no account, and still doesn't keep score.
Steadwell is a record of your house. How old the roof is. When the water heater went in. What paint is on the guest bedroom trim, and which breaker the dishwasher is on. The things you would otherwise guess at, dig through a drawer for, or ask the person who lived here before you. It also says when something is worth looking at — the furnace filter, the gutters, the smoke alarms — and it says it quietly. There is no red, no "overdue", and no running count of what you haven't done. Steadwell keeps a record. It doesn't keep score. APPROXIMATE ANSWERS ARE FINE "Some time in 2019" is a real answer, and so is "before my time". Nothing here asks you for a date you don't have, and nothing looks half-finished because you didn't have one. IT ALREADY KNOWS WHAT MOST THINGS NEED Sixty-odd maintenance suggestions, each with what the manual says, what most people do, and usually something more forgiving — you pick, and you can ignore all three. A tankless water heater is never offered an anode rod it hasn't got. IT ALL LIVES ON YOUR PHONE No account, no sign-in, no server, and it works with no signal at all. If you want your own devices in step, sync runs on your own iCloud and is off until you switch it on. You can share one house with the person you live with. YOURS TO TAKE WITH YOU One backup file that puts everything back exactly as it was. Or a set of spreadsheets, if you would rather keep it somewhere nothing can lock it away. Free. No ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases, and nothing watching what you do.
