DMT Mobile Field Map is built for pipeline survey crews. Import the job, walk it, record what you find, and hand back files the office can open. IMPORT THE JOB Open a DeLorme .dmt and the centerline, access, AGMs and map notes land in the standard draw folders with their colors intact. Everything stays in those folders, so a file that goes back to the desktop looks the way it is supposed to. WORK OFF THE MAP Satellite imagery with road labels. Drop AGMs, valves, survey points and map notes where you are standing, or anywhere you long press. Drag a pin to move it. Delete one from its own callout and it sits in Recently Deleted for fourteen days, in case that was a mistake. RECORD ACCESS Start recording and the app keeps tracking while you drive, with the phone locked or another app open. Breadcrumbs toggle separately for when you just want to see where you have been. Lock the map on yourself north up, or turn it so the way you are pointed is up the screen. MEASURE Tap points along the map and read the distance in feet and miles as you go. NO SIGNAL, NO PROBLEM Download the imagery for the whole job before you leave the yard: half a mile either side of every access and centerline. It tells you the size before it starts, and picks up where it left off if it stops. When you lose service the downloaded imagery takes over, so the map keeps working where the bars do not. SEND IT BACK Export a full .dmt that opens in DeLorme Street Atlas on the desktop and in DMT Mobile on another phone. Or send map notes as a matched .txt and .csv, access as a .gpx stamped with the time every point was taken, or all of it together in one share. Several runs in a day, and runs from different days, sit in one .gpx and still read apart. Offline imagery is the USDA National Agriculture Imagery Program, served by the USGS National Map.
