AviationWiser METAR & TAF decodes live aviation weather reports for student pilots, pilots and instructors. Look up an airport, read every group of the METAR with its meaning, and see the TAF laid out on a timeline. Two tools in one app • METAR Decoder: the raw report, a plain summary (wind, visibility and RVR, weather, sky and ceiling, temperature and dew point, altimeter, flight category) and an element-by-element list in which every group, remarks included, shows its meaning and the FAA publication paragraph it comes from. A group the decoder cannot match is marked NOT DECODED and shown as written: it never guesses. • Drawings: the wind on a compass rose with gusts and the variable sector, the cloud layers at their heights with the ceiling, the visibility and the flight category (VFR, MVFR, IFR, LIFR). • TAF Timeline: the valid period from left to right. The prevailing forecast with its FM groups, BECMG periods hatched, TEMPO and PROB30/PROB40 groups in their own lanes. Drag the time cursor to see what prevails, what is changing and what may happen at that moment. • Practice: five questions on the report on screen or on a training example, with the answers hidden until you choose. • International reports are decoded with the WMO code (NOSIG, BECMG, TEMPO, CAVOK and more). Made for the phone • Favourite stations in a row above the tool, one tap away. • Offline copies: the last reports stay on your device and are shown with their age, clearly labelled as a stored copy, never as live. • Share the decoded report, pull down to refresh, haptic feedback. • English and Turkish. The app follows your device language; you can switch it in Settings. Free for 7 days, then a one-time unlock Start the free trial on the welcome screen. It is a free App Store item: nothing is charged. For 7 days both tools are fully available. When the 7 days are over, both tools are locked until you unlock Pro with a one-time purchase. It is not a subscription. There are no ads and no account. Restore your purchase on another device with the same Apple Account. Where the data comes from Live METAR and TAF come from the NOAA / National Weather Service Aviation Weather Center through the AviationWiser server. If the service cannot be reached, a stored copy is shown with its time and age, and only within set limits (METAR 3 hours, TAF 6 hours). Important For education and practice only; not for flight planning and not an official weather briefing. Before flight, use an official weather briefing. Not affiliated with or endorsed by NOAA, the National Weather Service or the FAA.
