Floating button for Back, Home, Recents, volume and lock. No hardware keys.
Aurora Assist is made for people who cannot reliably press a hardware key or perform a multi-finger gesture — because of limited hand strength, a tremor, a motor impairment, or a phone with broken buttons. It puts one floating button on top of every app. Tap it and a panel opens with Back, Home, Recents, volume, lock screen, screenshot and the power menu. Every one of those normally needs a hardware key or a system gesture. Here they are one touch away, in a place on screen you choose and your thumb can reach. WHAT THE BUTTON DOES • Tap to open the panel, or long press — you choose which • Drag it anywhere; it snaps to the nearest edge and stays there • Fades while you are not using it, and comes back to full strength on touch • Give each of the four swipe directions an action and skip the panel entirely EIGHTEEN SLOTS, TWO PAGES Back, Home, Recents, notifications, quick settings, lock screen, screenshot, power menu, torch, ring mode, volume up and down and system settings. Put any of them in any slot, or point a slot at an app you open often. THREE PRESETS, ONE TAP EACH One-handed puts navigation on the four swipe directions, so you rarely open the panel at all — for when holding the phone and reaching its corners at the same time is not possible. Easy to see and tap gives you a large, fully opaque button with big targets that opens on a long press, for low vision and for hands that brush the screen by accident. Broken hardware keys brings the power menu, lock screen, volume and screenshot to the front page. BUILT FOR PHONES THAT STOP BACKGROUND APPS Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Huawei and Samsung each add their own layer on top of Android, and floating buttons are usually the first thing they shut down. A Reliability screen takes you to the two settings that matter on your own phone, and the button starts itself again after the system stops it. WHAT IT IS NOT This is not a quick settings panel. The slots run an action; they do not show you whether Wi-Fi or Bluetooth is on, and there are no sliders. The app does not read the content of your screen, does not record what you type, and does not track which apps you use. The accessibility permission is used only to send the system actions you tap, and you can read that same sentence inside the app before you grant anything. PERMISSIONS, HONESTLY • Display over other apps is required. Without it there is no button at all. • The accessibility service is the only way an ordinary Android app can perform Back, Recents, notifications, quick settings, lock screen and screenshot. Android shows a strong warning before you turn it on, because the same API can be misused. Aurora Assist is free and supported by ads. They appear only inside the app's own settings screens — never on the floating button, never on the panel, and never over another app. Aurora Assist is an independent accessibility utility. It is not made by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Apple Inc. or Google LLC.
