I've been using this at work as a fire driver, I like it and have found it useful, the routes have generally been pretty smart, I like the map with large text and names of buildings and roads clearly visible. my only complaint is that the maps need to be updated more often.

Thanks for the feedback :). We've seen increased timelines recently for Google to approve app updates, we're working on allowing maps to be updated without the app needing to update via the play store first.

Good app, enjoy the current location feature while driving around.

Great in theory, but the app crashes multiple times which is less than ideal given its purpose, the "options" bar obscures most of the map when on car play mode and the search function isn't intuitive
Developer reply
Hi Adam. When in Android Auto, you can tap the steering wheel icon to hide the menu options.
Our November release resolves all recent crash reports from Android Auto users, caused by Android closing the app in the background when switching between other Android Auto apps.

Saw this an the ess, liked the sound of it, just downloaded the app to have a look. Nice you can go from police car, ambulance or fire engine. Thought I do a route from my house to my friends. The emergency route takes you through a military US base, which I know they wouldn't let us though we have to be escorted by their police to their ER.
Developer reply
Hi Paul. Thanks for checking it out. We've identified that the data from our map provider was missing some emergency access restrictions at a US base and have corrected it for the next update. Feel free to get in touch at support@bluelightmaps.com

Good idea, but I already use my work phone that displays the incident address, when you press on the link it loads up the dispatch address on Google maps.... What you really want to do it try and get this map installed on each of the police work devices.

Completely agree. We'd cheekily suggest asking your police service to allow it to be installed on work devices, where the app could be used as the default navigation app instead of Google.

Been using this as an operator of a vehicle in a response car. So far have no complaints and have been getting to incidents quicker utilising the map using blue light exceptions compared to Google maps. For instance today we've used a bus only road that would commonly be avoided on Google maps. This allowed us to get to an incident much quicker compared to following Google maps. Does the developer intend to partner with any emergency services to allow free access to this app in future?

We're glad we've been able to help you get to calls quicker, thanks for the feedback.
Yes, we're in contact with decision makers in various services with a view to encourage them to license the app for their staff - if you'd be open to help provide them your feedback, you can contact us at support@bluelightmaps.com.

Great idea, but your target audience doesn't get paid enough to afford the high subscription rate

Highly innovative idea that works well (about time we had something like this available!). Paid for app, but totally worth it.

A map you have to pay for. If you drive on blues, learn your patch and save your money

Hi Callum,
We agree that learning a patch is an important foundation, and we hope our product allows our users to learn some of the most efficient routes, which they may otherwise not discover.
It seems that you haven't actually used the app though. Would ask that you at least give the free trial a go and review on that basis.
