SMS app with web interface and API: read and send SMS from your computer.
SMS Dock is an SMS app that also serves your messages to the browsers and programs in your own network. The phone keeps its SIM card and its number; you read and write your SMS on the phone, in the browser of your computer, or from your own programs.
No cloud, no account, no second app on the computer: SMS Dock runs a small server on the phone, and your messages never leave your network.
🌐 IN THE BROWSER
• Open the address that the app shows, sign in with your password, and work with your SMS on a big screen with a real keyboard.
• All conversations, sorted by number, with the names from your contacts.
• Search and filter: by text, by number, incoming or outgoing.
• Send an SMS to a number from the list, to a contact, or to a new number.
• New messages appear at once, with a pop-up you can switch off.
• Delete single messages or whole conversations.
• Dual SIM: choose the SIM card for each message.
• Start a phone call to a number with one click and hang up again. You talk on the phone; the browser only dials. Switched off until you allow it in the app.
FOR YOUR PROGRAMS (FULL LICENCE)
• A documented WebSocket API with JSON messages.
• Read messages page by page, with filters and search.
• Send SMS and follow each one: queued, sent, delivered or failed.
• Get an event for every incoming SMS and react to it, for example with an automatic answer or by passing a one-time code to a test.
• Ready-made clients and command-line tools for Python, Java, Go, Rust, Node.js, Dart and C#.
📞 ON THE PHONE
• Message list and compose screen, as in every SMS app.
• Start and stop the server with one tap. While it runs, a notification shows it and offers "Stop server".
• The addresses for the browser and for the API, and the fingerprint of the certificate, on one screen.
• A log of logins, sent messages and calls. It never contains the text of a message.
• The ports can be changed in the settings.
🔐 SECURITY
• Both interfaces are encrypted (HTTPS and WSS) with a certificate that is created on your phone and never leaves it.
• One password, which you set before the first start, protects both interfaces. Wrong passwords lock the login for a growing time.
• Messages, contacts and the log stay on the phone, and nothing is sent to the developer.
• SMS Dock is made for your own network. Do not open its ports to the internet.
ℹ️️ GOOD TO KNOW
• SMS Dock has to be the default SMS app of the phone. Android gives access to SMS only to this app.
• SMS only: while SMS Dock is the default SMS app, the phone receives no MMS. RCS chats and group messages are not supported.
• The certificate is self-signed, so the browser shows a warning at the first visit. Compare the fingerprint in the browser with the one in the app.
• The phone and the computer have to be in the same network.
• Calls started in the browser take place on the phone, with its microphone, speaker or headset. The WebSocket API works with SMS only.
• Your mobile contract decides what an SMS or a call costs.
FREE VERSION AND FULL LICENCE
The free version contains the app and the web interface, sends up to 10 SMS and starts up to 10 calls per day. The full licence is a single purchase in the app, not a subscription. It removes the daily limits and unlocks the WebSocket API.
The app is available in English, German and Polish.
