update 2026: app was working ok but now facing severe issues with audio like most recent comments. it stops refuses to play, Best app ever. It's free but to remove ads you pay. it's like trying to play an online song with bad internet. ---old--- best app for 2.90 which is very good deal. Simple, never crushes, no issues, no annoying popups, lots of good book ... I could keep going. This app is a treasure and thank you a thousand times for whoever made it and is maintaining it. Keep it up.

Thank you for your updated review. It looks like you have the latest version of our app installed - 11.4.2. What audio issues are you having? Specific examples would be helpful.
generally good but the search and player need improvement. The player often gets stuck and you can't really close a book that you started unless you override it with another book. Often the player buffers extra empty space, so it keeps running even after the chapter has finished. You can't move between chapters. And the player quality is not improving despite updates :(
Developer reply
Thanks for your feedback. You can move between chapters by long pressing on the rewind/forward buttons. More options will pop up including "previous/next chapter". You can also press on the chapter title and a pop up menu will show you all the chapters in a book. I will add your other concerns to the technical's team suggestion list.
is it just me or when I pick the screen the app pauses the book after a few seconds?

Thanks for your review and feedback. What do you mean by pick the screen? Do you mean when it goes to a lock screen? Or if you open up a different app?
Please, please, please fix the playback resuming from random places rather than where it was stopped.

Thanks for your review and feedback. Sorry the app is not resuming correctly. I have added your concern to the technical team's suggestion list of improvements.
Updates killed this app. Each night I go to listen to the same book I was listening to previously, it won't start the book unless I change books and then go back to it. Then the timer behavior and usage are ruined. Can barely read timer readout because it's a drab color directly ontop of the book cover. Adjusting the timer is an absolute pain. Bought this app back in 2017/2018. It was fine how it was.

Thank you for your review and feedback. Sorry the recent updates have made using the app more difficult. I have added your concerns about getting a book to play and the sleep timer to the technical team's suggestion list of improvements.
I've used and loved this app for a long time but this latest update has rendered the play button useless. I also hate that the sleep timer display is dimmed. Can we get a rollback please?
Developer reply
Thanks for your review, feedback, and support of our app! I'm sorry about the recent difficulties with the play button. Our technical team is aware of the problem and will be releasing an update (11.4) this week to correct that. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Previous versions worked better, even with little quirks. The latest major update is terrible. UI changes now mean that the space available to display the titles is much less. Titles get chopped off. Sleep timer was updated - now more fiddly. But most importantly - the play button topped working! Please fix or better, revert to previous version!

I love LibriVox and the volunteers who read the books. this review regarding the app only. I can't share suggestions from within the app as the button opens social media sharing instead, so you will find my suggestions here. using controls on my headphones is impractical: pausing a book will lose me several minutes of progress and I've ended up listening to the same passage many times. fast forward and rewind move me between chapters rather than some seconds to and fro. app options are barren.

Thanks for your review and feedback. I've added your concerns about the headphone controls to the technical team's suggestion list of improvements. Under app settings (gear icon) there is a section titled "Feedback and Support". You can press on that to send us an email. What other app options would you like to see in the app?
the quality of available content, makes the best app for me that I have, ever downloaded, and I only needed, less than a minute to subscribe for a year ad free! I can't wait to get into the content, there is, so much to choose from, I've never received an app before, and I honestly recommend Librovox add free! kind regards Philip. ps. do it now, don't miss out!
