Offline audiobook player: chapters, bookmarks, sleep timer, listening stats
Sonaris plays the audiobooks already stored on your phone. There is no catalogue and no subscription: you pick the folder your books live in, and everything works offline, without an account. Each subfolder is a book. Sonaris reads file tags, picks up embedded M4B chapters, and fetches a cover and description when one exists. Title, author, narrator, series and genre can be corrected by hand — a rescan never overwrites your edits. Downloaded a book as an archive? Sonaris spots the ZIP in your folder and offers to unpack it — no file manager, straight into the library. LISTENING • Speed is set per book. • After a pause the player rewinds a little, and the longer the pause, the further back it goes. • Short and long seek, chapter navigation, bookmarks with labels. • Every number is in your time: at 1.5× an hour of the book shows as forty minutes, because that is how long you will sit with it. SLEEP TIMER • Until the end of the chapter, or for a set time. • Thirty seconds before the end the volume fades out. WHERE YOU LEFT OFF • Listening history with a tap back into that exact spot. • Shelves for in progress, not started, finished and abandoned books. • A queue, and automatic continuation of a series. WITHIN REACH • A widget in four sizes with cover, progress and play controls. • Playback controls in the notification, on your headset and on your watch. • The cover’s colour tints the player and the widget. Progress, bookmarks and statistics stay on the device. The app goes online only when you search for a book cover or description yourself, and checks your Plus purchase with Google Play. A backup is a single file holding progress, bookmarks, history and settings, saved to a folder you choose. WHAT YOU NEED MP3, M4A, M4B, Opus or Ogg files in phone storage or on a memory card.
