New: everything in one place • Menu (⋮) and Options button: recording, settings and permissions • Choose mode, display unit, unit system, app colour, alarm and language directly • Tidier main screen: mode above the gauge, unit in the menu • Recordings keep running more reliably and come back after an interruption • Allowing background use opens Android's battery dialog directly • Easier to read text
Vibration meter and seismometer: RMS, peak, PPV, frequency, recording, CSV.
Vibration meter and pocket seismometer for your phone. Put it on a machine, a floor or a wall and see in real time how strongly it shakes. Is the washing machine walking across the floor again during the spin cycle? Does the building site next door shake your house? Has the pump in the basement started to rattle? Vibration Meter turns the accelerometer in your phone into a measuring instrument and shows the answer on a large instrument dial. WHAT YOU CAN MEASURE • Vibration level: RMS and peak acceleration in g or m/s², live • Vibration speed: PPV in mm/s or in/s, the value building standards use • Frequency: the dominant frequency in Hz from a live spectrum, handy for spotting an unbalanced motor or a resonance • Seismograph: a live oscilloscope trace of every knock and hum THREE MODES • General: everyday checks with a scale sized for a phone in your hand • Seismometer · MMI: ground shaking shown on an estimated Modified Mercalli intensity scale • Construction · PPV: mm/s readout with the DIN 4150 and BS 7385 reference values for buildings RECORD AND SHARE • Record vibration for minutes or hours, also with the screen off • Every recording stays on your phone with duration, strongest acceleration, strongest speed and main frequency • Share it as a seismograph image, a short video or a CSV file for your own analysis ALARM • Drag the marker on the outer ring to the level you care about • The phone beeps and vibrates as soon as the vibration climbs above it, also in the background EARTHQUAKE MAP • Recent earthquakes worldwide on a map, with magnitude, depth and distance from you • Descriptions in your own language TIPS FOR GOOD READINGS • Lay the phone flat on the surface you measure, not in your hand • Tap Zero with the phone lying still before an important measurement • For long recordings, plug the phone in and allow background running HONEST LIMITS A phone accelerometer is not a certified vibration monitor. It samples at a few hundred hertz at most and every model is a little different. Use the readings as a good relative guide, for example to compare before and after, not as legal evidence. Works offline (the earthquake map needs internet) · no sign-up · more than 70 languages · a small banner and, now and then, a full-screen ad
