Monitor, test, and troubleshoot Modbus devices from your Android phone or tablet.
Modbus Monitor Advanced is built for engineers and technicians who need more than quick register reads. Monitor multiple communication channels, decode device data, log results, reuse configurations, run a Modbus TCP server, and work with device maps from the field.
Monitor multiple connections simultaneously
• Poll TCP/IP, USB Serial, and Bluetooth channels at the same time
• Monitor PLCs, meters, VFDs, sensors, gateways, and other Modbus devices
• Configure reusable monitor points for repeated testing and commissioning
Connect wired or wireless
• Modbus TCP and UDP over Wi-Fi / Ethernet
• Modbus RTU over TCP
• Modbus ASCII over TCP
• Modbus RTU and ASCII over USB Serial
• Modbus RTU and ASCII over Bluetooth Classic / BLE
• Enron protocol/addressing option for compatible equipment
Client + Server tools
• Poll remote Modbus devices in Client mode
• Run your Android device as a Modbus TCP Server
• Use Client and Server modes together for compatible gateway and testing workflows
• Use Sensor Server to expose supported Android sensors through Modbus TCP
Advanced data conversion
Interpret raw registers as:
• Signed and unsigned integers
• Hex and binary
• 32-bit and 64-bit values
• Float and double
• BCD
• Strings
• Unix epoch time
• Multiple byte/word orders
Apply scaling and convert coded integer values into readable status messages.
Write and test
• Read and write coils and registers
• Use saved write presets for repeatable testing
• One-tap preset writes
• Configure write behavior by monitor point
Logging and configuration
• Log data to CSV
• Export data at configurable intervals
• Import and export monitor-point configurations
• Reuse configurations instead of rebuilding register lists
• Monitor communication statistics and RX/TX activity
Modbus Device Maps
Browse device maps by manufacturer and model.
• Free Community maps can be browsed, downloaded, and imported
• QBS device maps can be previewed and purchased separately through Google Play
• Import maps to reduce manual register configuration
Always verify register definitions against the documentation for your exact device model and firmware.
Optional cloud add-ons
Extend Advanced with separately purchased cloud integrations:
• MQTT publishing
• Google Sheets logging
Cloud add-ons require separate in-app purchases and configuration.
USB-OTG Serial
Supports common USB serial adapters including:
• FTDI
• Prolific PL2303
• Silicon Labs CP210x
• CH34x
• STMicro USB-CDC
USB serial requires Android USB Host / OTG support.
Requirements
• Android 6.0 or later
• USB Host / OTG support for USB serial connections
• Compatible Bluetooth hardware for Bluetooth features
• Network access for TCP/IP communication
