Door board

Door board is a room status board for hotel housekeeping. The building is drawn as it really is: a corridor for each floor and a door for each room. The way a door is drawn tells you where that room stands, so a supervisor can read the whole house at a glance, straight off the trolley. EVERY ROOM, ONE DOOR • Shut and quiet: a guest is in, nothing to do • Corner flag: the guest is going today • Standing open: stripped and waiting for a cleaner • Open wide with a name on it: being cleaned now • Shut again: cleaned and waiting to be checked • Key tag: checked and ready to let • Hatched: out of service, with its history kept The top of the board always shows how many rooms are ready to let now and how many are still to turn. MOVE ROOMS ON IN ONE TAP Open any room to see its state, how long it has been there, who is on it, its type, beds and notes such as "VIP arrival 16:00". Only the moves that make sense are offered. An inspection either passes the room as ready to let or sends it back, and a room sent back always has to say why. SHARE OUT THE ROUND FAIRLY Mark who is on shift today and tap Share out the round. Rooms are split by weight of work, not just by floor: a departure turn and a stayover refresh carry different credit, and you set what each is worth. Move any single room to somebody else by hand without re-levelling the rest of the morning. A room already being cleaned stays with the person on it. SEE HOW THE DAY WENT Day review shows the average turn time today and for each of the last seven days. It is measured from the moment a room was due out to the moment it passed inspection, so the figures are real elapsed times, not typed-in numbers. You also see how many rooms each person turned and every room sent back today, with the reason. BUILT FOR HOUSEKEEPING HOURS Housekeeping mornings do not start at midnight. Choose the hour your operating day begins, and the round, re-cleans and turn times all count from there. A room left mid-clean when the day rolls over is marked, so somebody goes and looks.
