poor! no real feel temperature. app states that current temperature at 4:30 in deep south Texas, which has a real feel of 108° is good for kids to have a 2 hour outdoor practice. deadly!!!

The Zelus system provides Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT), a proven, scientifically validated measure of heat stress. AccuWeather’s RealFeel is not WBGT and should not be compared to it. The 108°F RealFeel cited in this review is a different measurement entirely.

DANGEROUS APP! This app is inaccurate; it could be dangerous. The app consistently reads below the actual reading. Example: today, my Kestrel on-site was reading over 94° in the black zone by MSHSAA standards (no outside practice). This app was reading much lower, upper end of the orange zone (okay to go out). This could definitely put someone at risk. Several of my fellow ATs have the same issue. The color codes are different than MSHSAA and make it confusing. Definitely would not rely on it!
Developer reply
A Kestrel 5400 is not the “actual” WBGT. A 2024 peer-reviewed study comparing it with a gold standard WBGT instrument found the Kestrel read higher almost every time at WBGT levels over 92°F, and found WBGT from weather data more accurate than the Kestrel. Zelus bases its methodology on published science.

I PURCHASED this app a few years ago for $3.99. NOW they update the app and there is a paid subscription? $4.49 per month or $49.99 per year for club sports? WTH? Thanks but NO THANKS! I will find the info a different way! I can't believe the change! Those that purchased the app before should have access to minimal info at least! So disappointed! 😡🤬😠

This is not true. We have never had a $3.99 tier. And we never had a lifetime purchase.

Shows wet bulb temp. wish it had a widget. No idea why other people had sign-up issues. It was easy for me.
Developer reply
Thank you for the review. Can you email us at help@zelusports.com about what you envision for the widget? We always like to hear about ways to increase functionality.
