Drawing mode: one square at a time, screen stays on, tick squares off, zoom and lock. Your drawings are saved with their progress. Exact rows and columns, or a fixed square size. Custom paper size, rotate and mirror. New Pencil look, and every Pro look can be previewed first.
Put a grid on any photo and draw it square by square. Print it at paper size.
Grid Drawing helps you draw a photo accurately with the grid method, the technique artists have used for centuries. Put a grid on your photo, draw the same grid on your paper, and copy one square at a time. Proportions come out right, even if you are just starting. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pick a photo, or take one. 2. Choose your paper: A4, A3, A5, Letter, 8 × 10, 9 × 12, 11 × 14 inches, a square, or your own canvas size. The photo is cropped to the paper's shape, and you drag it to keep the part you want. 3. Choose your grid. The app tells you exactly how big to draw each square on your paper, in centimeters or inches. 4. Tap Start drawing and copy square by square. DRAWING MODE • Made for a phone propped up next to your paper: dark around the picture, and the screen stays on • One square lights up at a time while the rest dims, so your eye stays in the right place • Zoom straight into the square you are drawing • Tick each square off as you finish it and watch your progress fill up • Lock the picture so a stray touch never moves it YOUR DRAWINGS ARE SAVED Every photo you open becomes a drawing on the home screen. Close the app, come back next week, and carry on from the same square. THE GRID, YOUR WAY • Squares across, an exact number of rows and columns (say 28 × 39), or a fixed square size like 2 cm • Any line color: presets, a full color picker, hex codes and your recent colors • Line thickness from hairline to bold • Diagonals in each square, for faces and curves • Labels along the edges, a small A1 name in every square, or none • Rotate and mirror the photo SEE IT LIKE AN ARTIST • Grayscale, to judge light and dark without color getting in the way • Try every Pro look on your own photo before you decide SAVE AND PRINT • Save the photo with its grid to your gallery • Print at the real paper size: one page with the photo and its grid, and a second page with a matching blank grid to draw on PRO One payment adds three views artists love: tone steps, which flatten the photo into 3 to 8 values of gray; pencil, which redraws the photo as soft pencil lines with an on-device AI; and sketch, which shows the edges. It also removes ads. The grid, drawing mode, saved drawings, every paper size, grayscale, saving and printing are free. Your photos never leave your phone. The sample is Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer, around 1665, in the public domain.
