AI vision assistant for blind & low vision: describes scenes, reads text aloud
Beamfy is an AI vision assistant for blind and low-vision people. Point your phone camera, tap once, and hear a spoken description of your surroundings, or have printed text read aloud. Beamfy works with TalkBack. DESCRIBE YOUR SURROUNDINGS Take a photo and hear what is in front of you. Beamfy mentions possible hazards first, such as steps, traffic or objects in the way, and tells you when it is not sure. Choose brief, normal or detailed descriptions. READ PRINTED TEXT ALOUD Point the camera at a letter, sign, menu or label in the Read tab. Beamfy reads the text exactly as it is written. Ask for a translation when you need one. IDENTIFY PRODUCTS AND PACKAGING Use Scan to hear what a product is from its packaging and label. HEAR A WALKING ROUTE, STEP BY STEP Say or type where you want to go. Beamfy finds the place and reads you the walking route one step at a time. It is a route preview: you move between the steps yourself, and Beamfy does not follow your position during the walk or detect obstacles. SOS FOR YOUR EMERGENCY CONTACT Save an emergency contact in Settings. When you press SOS, a 10-second countdown starts, and one tap on Cancel stops it. Then Beamfy texts your contact your location and tells you whether the text was sent. Beamfy does not contact emergency services itself, but it offers a button to call your local emergency number. SOS is free for everyone and never needs a subscription. WORKS WITH TALKBACK Buttons are labeled for TalkBack and every result is spoken, so you can use Beamfy without looking at the screen. Set the speaking rate and the level of detail, and turn on high contrast or large text in Settings. YOUR LANGUAGE The interface and the AI answers are available in 74 languages. Speech uses the text-to-speech voices installed on your phone. PRIVACY Beamfy does not store your photos. Each photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our AI provider only to create your answer. Details are in our privacy policy. FREE AND PREMIUM After you sign up you get 7 days of full access. After that, you can use 5 AI descriptions or text readings per day for free. Beamfy Premium, a monthly or yearly subscription, removes the daily limit for normal personal use (fair-use limits apply). Google Play shows the price in your currency before you subscribe. SOS is always free. A NOTE ON SAFETY Beamfy is a helper, not a mobility aid.
