Open-source C/C++ IDE with a visual circuit editor for embedded projects.
Build embedded projects with code and circuits side by side. WireDroid combines a C/C++ code editor with a visual circuit workspace on Android. Write programs, arrange boards and components, connect pins, and explore how supported circuit models respond to your code. CODE AND CIRCUITS IN ONE WORKSPACE • Edit code with syntax highlighting, tabs, a project file tree, search, themes, and editor settings. • Open the circuit workspace alongside your code. • Move, rotate, and resize boards and components. • Select groups, copy connected parts, align components, and undo changes. • Route wires with bend points, choose wire colors, and highlight connected networks. C/C++ PROJECTS AND LIBRARIES • Work with multi-file C/C++ projects, headers, and local libraries. • Import Arduino library ZIP packages and manage versions and dependencies. • Keep library packages available for offline use. • Configure board targets, source files, include paths, and build definitions. • Compile and run supported GPIO simulation programs on ARM64 Android devices. INTERACTIVE CIRCUITS • Press buttons, adjust potentiometers, and change supported sensor inputs. • Watch LEDs, displays, and animated motor models respond. • Explore supported models for resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors, and other circuit elements. • Check for unconnected pins, power-to-ground shorts, conflicting outputs, and LEDs without a resistor. • Navigate from a circuit issue to the relevant component. MOTORS AND MOTION Explore positional and continuous servos, DC motors, stepper motors, A4988 microstepping, quadrature encoders, and an averaged ESC/BLDC model. Move a servo horn manually while the simulation is stopped, or let your program control it during execution. SIGNALS AND SERIAL • Monitor digital states, ADC values, and PWM. • View multiple signal channels and use edge triggers. • Measure pulse width, period, and duty cycle. • Decode available UART, I²C, and SPI signal traces. • Export VCD traces and use the Serial Monitor to send and receive data. AVR FIRMWARE Import compatible Intel HEX firmware and execute supported ATmega328P instructions in the simulator. Pause, step, resume, reset, and inspect registers. AVR firmware compilation currently requires a computer; an AVR compiler is not included on Android. READY-TO-USE EXAMPLES Start with 17 projects containing code, boards, and wiring. Examples cover LEDs, buttons, traffic lights, servo control, analog circuits, motor drivers, an LCD, I²C EEPROM, an encoder, and AVR Blink. SAVE AND RECOVER YOUR WORK Editor checkpoints help recover unsaved text. A failed save or a locked source file blocks execution of outdated code. SUPPORT AND LIMITS WireDroid includes a catalog of 339 board entries and 2,570 components. Catalog availability does not mean complete simulation or hardware support. Support levels are shown separately, and components without a behavior model are identified. MCU simulation currently supports ATmega328P. Other board families may be available as generic GPIO models. Electronic and mechanical models are approximations, with limits that vary by component. SPICE netlist export is available; an embedded ngspice runtime is not included. USB serial and STK500v1 upload features require compatible hardware. Physical upload compatibility is still being validated. WireDroid is under active development. Source code: https://github.com/MrmaderatorYT/WireDroid
