Small, hard for me to see. Sorry
Developer reply
No need to apologize, Dixie! You’re not alone in asking for larger text, and we’ve shared it with our team. In the meantime, Android’s Magnification can help: go to Settings -> Accessibility -> Magnification, then triple-tap the screen to zoom in. We hope that makes reading easier!
local news is broken. there's no option to set a fixed location. it insists on using phone location and provides no other option.

We're sorry about this, and you’re right that you should be able to set a fixed location. We’ve passed it to our team for the new version. In the meantime, you can set your local news location on our website at ground.news by clicking your location in the top right. Would you consider updating your review once it’s fixed?
be very careful about the free trial. deep in their help page. there is a note that you must cancel 48 hours in advance or you will be billed.

We're sorry for the experience. Cancellation timing should be clear upfront rather than buried in a help article. We’ve shared this with our team. For Google Play trials, you can cancel here https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481. Otherwise, you can manage your subscription here https://ground.news/manage-subscription
I attempted to download this app in an effort to address a serious concern: my inability to find reliable legitimate news. before I could even explore the app i was asked to sign up for a 1 week free trial and then pay 40/y for a subscription as the only option for access. i can understand the need to be reimbursed for what they put in. What i cant understand is the fact that we live in a society where the news that directly impacts the people is always behind some kind of paywall.

We're sorry about this and hear your frustration. A free version does exist with no payment needed. On the subscription screen, look for Continue for free or Sign In instead of the trial. We’re subscriber-funded rather than ad-funded, which is why some features are paid. We hope you’ll give the free version a try.
Using this is the best way to stay informed as a critically thinking person

It's the only news source I trust.

Solved the problem of following heaps of outlets
Developer reply
We absolutely love that it solved that for you! One place to see what all those outlets are saying is exactly the idea. Thank you Mark, we appreciate the support!
Ground News seems like any other online news service you can access for free. I canceled within the free trial time frame but it did not "take" and I was charged $40.29 even though I signed up for monthly fee.

We're very sorry about the unexpected charge, Gary. If you subscribed through Google Play, Google handles billing and refunds. You can request one at https://support.google.com/googleplay/workflow/9813244?hl=en. Otherwise, please reach out at feedback@ground.news and we’ll look into why your cancellation didn’t go through.
claims to be non-biased but clearly is run by maga leaning folks.
Developer reply
We're sorry to hear this, David. Ground News is apolitical and not affiliated with any political group. Bias ratings come from three independent third-party organizations, not our team. Full methodology at ground.news/rating-system. If specific stories felt slanted, we’d welcome examples at feedback@ground.news so we can look into it.
Don't waste money unless it's news you get every day that you don't pay for I don't know why I was charged for it I didn't agree to that.
