- Hinglish now runs on our own speech model, trained on Indian speech. Names, brands, medicines and tech words come out right far more often, and it is about five times faster. - Amounts come out in digits: "paanch sau rupaye" gives 500 rupaye. - The first Hinglish dictation after updating downloads the new model once (about 660 MB). - Retrying a failed dictation uses the language you spoke in. - A damaged speech model download is found and offered again.

TypeMate turns your voice into text without sending a single word to the internet. Tap the mic, speak, tap again. Your words appear on screen and are saved to your history, ready to copy into chats, notes, emails, prompts. FLOATING MIC: DICTATE INTO ANY APP Turn on the floating mic and a small button appears whenever you are in a text field, in any app. Tap it, speak, tap again, and your words are typed straight into that field. No switching keyboards, no copy-paste. WHY TYPEMATE USES THE ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE TypeMate uses Android's AccessibilityService API to provide the floating mic. The service is used only to: - know when you are in a text field, so the mic button can be shown next to it; - type your dictated words into that text field; - notice when you hold Ctrl and the Meta key on a physical keyboard to dictate. TypeMate watches for only those two keys and never blocks any key. The service does not read anything else on your screen, collects no data, and sends nothing off your phone. It is optional: TypeMate explains this and asks for your agreement before you turn it on, and in-app dictation works without it. You can turn it off at any time in Android's Accessibility settings. ONE-TIME MODEL DOWNLOAD On first use TypeMate downloads the speech model for your language (up to about 650 MB) so all transcription can happen offline afterwards. Wi-Fi recommended.
