Coretrace is a puzzle game about rebuilding a careful ice-core archive.
Coretrace is a one-finger portrait puzzle game about rebuilding a careful ice-core archive. Each focused assignment takes about two to four minutes. Grip an axis ring and rotate a core segment until its fractured edge, dark marker band, and visible layers meet. Drag end caps to restore a broken sequence, connect matching evidence marks, declare missing depth instead of hiding it, and position a sampling window that avoids contaminated surfaces while preserving enough of the archive. Every action produces immediate visual, text, animation, and sound feedback. A failed check does not erase seams you have already sealed. Instead, a responsibility wedge identifies the object or condition that needs attention, so the next move is clear and completed work stays respected. Eight distinct levels introduce one new responsibility at a time. The opening record teaches direct rotation. Later records add physical reordering, evidence correlation, explicit gaps, preservation planning, and a final multi-station Deep Record. No two levels use the same complete task structure, and difficulty rises from a single guided seam to a combined condition, link, and sample workflow. Successful work fills the scan ribbon and persists in the Archive Wall and Chronology Vault. Seam accuracy, archive fraction, evidence links, and honest gap declarations form a fixed, explainable mastery record rather than a changing score target. Coretrace includes reduced-motion and mute settings. Equivalent outlines, labels, patterns, and written states remain available when animation or sound is disabled. There is no mandatory energy system. Optional rewarded ads may provide one extra scan, clarify a surface, or add archive seals after a result, but advertising can never change evidence, submit an answer, or alter the judge. Interstitials never interrupt the first lesson or the final Deep Record milestone. All samples, patterns, records, and data shown in Coretrace are original synthetic training content created for this game. Coretrace is not a scientific analysis tool, laboratory training, or a source of real climate conclusions.
