Learn Modern Standard Arabic: alphabet, voweled words, grammar and conversation.
Learn Arabic from the alphabet up with a structured Modern Standard Arabic course: letters and vowels first, then everyday words, grammar and short texts. No sign-up.
Arabic Language Tutor is a course, not a phrasebook. Each lesson takes about seven minutes: a teach card explains one idea, then questions check it. When you miss one, you see why, and the Mistake Notebook brings it back later.
It suits complete beginners, and learners who can say a few phrases but cannot read them yet. Study ten minutes a day and watch your streak grow.
From the alphabet to reading
• Script level: all 28 letters in their four forms (isolated, initial, medial, final), short vowels, sukun, shadda, tanween, long vowels, hamza and ta marbuta
• Early lessons show full vowel marks and a transliteration, so you can sound out every word
• Later lessons remove the vowel marks step by step; B1 texts are mostly unvowelled, as real Arabic usually is
• Right-to-left practice: order word tiles to build sentences
Four levels, 25 units, 75 lessons
• Script, A1 Beginner, A2 Elementary and B1 Intermediate
• Greetings, family, numbers and time, food and home, places and directions, daily life
• The past tense, shopping, travel, health, plans and the future, comparisons
• Work and study, news, stories, opinions, culture and media
• 340 words in themed flashcard decks with spaced repetition
Practice and review
• Multiple choice, true or false, typing, matching, ordering, dialogs, listening and speaking drills
• Instant feedback with a short explanation
• Daily Challenge: seven questions, the same all day
• Review sessions bring back what you are about to forget
• Placement test, unit tests and a level exam for each level
Reference and habit
• Reference library: alphabet chart, pronunciation guide, essential phrases and a verb forms overview
• Offline search across lessons, words and reference pages
• Daily goal, streak, XP and study reminders
• Insights: weekly goal ring and accuracy by topic
• A home screen widget with your streak and reviews due
• Level certificates and shareable progress cards
• Light and dark themes, with sounds and haptics you can switch off
Good to know
• The course teaches Modern Standard Arabic, the written and formal language, not spoken dialects such as Egyptian or Levantine.
• The course runs from the first letters to B1. It is not an exam course or a teacher.
• The app has no audio recordings. Listening uses your phone's built-in text-to-speech voice, so the sound depends on that voice.
• Many phones have no Arabic voice. Then listening questions become reading questions.
• The speaking check uses your phone's own speech recognition and is hidden if your phone has none. The app does not record your voice.
• There is no letter tracing or handwriting practice yet.
• Lessons, tests and search work without an internet connection.
• Your progress is stored on your device only. Uninstalling the app or changing phone clears it.
• The app interface is in English.
