Mental arithmetic for the early math exam.
The first-year mathematics exam is taken without a calculator. Percentages, fractions, exponents, square roots: each exercise requires calculations that must be performed mentally, quickly, and accurately. Written by practicing mathematics teachers, this app prepares students for all the calculations needed for the early baccalaureate exam, technique by technique. It is intended for all first-year students: general track, with or without the mathematics specialization, and technological track. The few tracks that go beyond the core curriculum and the technological track are marked "Maths Specialization." 14 LESSONS, IN ORDER Multiplying and dividing quickly, decomposing a product, percentages, changes and multipliers, fractions, decimal notation and percentages, scientific notation, rules for exponents, expanding and factoring, proportions, transforming a formula, orders of magnitude, notable identities, square roots. A LESSON MADE WITH TECHNIQUE The method is presented step by step on the screen, with tips appearing as the calculation progresses and questions to check understanding. Students advance at their own pace and take the time to understand each step of the calculation; the "Back" button allows them to review a previously completed step or tip. ENDLESS EXERCISES Each lesson offers three sets of exercises of increasing difficulty. For each type of calculation, the numbers are randomly generated, so the exercises are endlessly repeatable. ANSWER KEY THAT EXPLAINS THE ERROR If an error occurs, the application explains what happened (a misplaced decimal point, a half instead of a quarter, etc.), then displays the solution line by line, starting with the rule applied. The "Redo step by step" mode allows students to repeat each step. VISIBLE PROGRESSION Earn one star for each lesson completed, up to three per set depending on your score. Earned stars are permanent: you can come back and practice as much as you like. Each correct calculation earns points, with bonuses for speed, consecutive correct answers, and review. A daily goal, a series of consecutive days, and 19 badges to unlock keep you coming back.
