FT - financial times? more like fruckin terrible. Outdated UI and terrible UX. I won't be continuing my subscription once my trial expires, this app is painful to use

Terrible experience. I signed up online but it was not clear that the access was to what is effectively a PDF. The app and site was terrible with no way to cancel online. Broken links to terms and conditions in emails. I'm honestly shocked that such a revered newspaper would use such dark patterns and have such generally poor service. Had to cancel through a customer service and thankfully will get a "good will" refund.

I am very unhappy with the FT app. I wanted to share a story today about travel to Turkey and Cyprus. I live in Nicosia. I was head of the Reuters Middle East and Africa Desk here from 1994 to 1997. I thought I had succeeded in posting the FT piece to Facebook but after pressing post, it showed only a vague reference to FT stories and not the headline itself. My next move will be to cancel my FT subscription. My decision is final. I don't want to get into a tedious discussion about what's wrong.
I got sent a link to an article, had to install this app, but the app does not display the article. Instead I have to choose a version of the Times (I've no idea from which the article is), then get nowhere without signing in our subscribing. Terrible usability

Great paper, awful app
Annoying
Feb 28 2026 the app will no longer display the epaper in high res . . . Edit (02 May 2026) Issue with low res resolved (no explanation from FT). Two new issues to report: 1. "Highlight in Full Screen" banner across the lower 1/4 of the screen keeps reappearing even when supposedly turned off.Significantly impedes access to Text View of articles at bottom of page. 2. Some articles in Text View have become merged, so you start reading 1 article and suddenly the text is from a different article!
