First release V1.0.0: The power's out at home: grab the torch, find what the family needs in the dark, and bring the light back. Find Dadi's specs, catch Billu the cat and Chotu playing hide and seek, light Dadi's way up the stairs and hold the light for the lineman in the gali. Six places, and a new night every time you play.
The lights are out. Grab the torch and find what the family needs.
Light chali gayi. The fan winds down, the TV goes dark, and somewhere in the house Dadi says, "Beta, torch lao." You hold the torch. Power Cut: Torch & Seek is a cosy, funny game about the moment every Indian home knows. Sweep your torch through the dark, find what the family needs, and bring the light back. When the power returns, the fan whirs up, the TV blares the cricket, and everyone cheers: Light aa gayi! ONE THUMB, ONE TORCH Drag to point the torch. Tap what you find. In the dark, only the beam shows the room, and every pair of eyes in the house follows your light. A FAMILY TO HELP Dadi has lost her specs again (check her head). Billu the cat sits on the matchbox, startles when you light him and sometimes walks off with something you need. Chotu is hiding somewhere, too scared of the dark to come out: catch him while he peeks. Sharma ji next door has opinions. EVERY NIGHT IS DIFFERENT Things turn up in new places every time you play. One night it is the matchbox, the next the TV remote, Dadi's medicine or Papa's keys. Look closely: in the dark, a bar of soap looks a lot like a matchbox. Spare batteries keep the torch going. SIX PLACES, ONE POWER CUT The living room, the kitchen with the milk about to boil over, the bedroom, the moonlit chhat with the washing on the line, the building's staircase with a lift stuck between floors, and the gali outside, where the lineman is up the ladder at the transformer. MORE THAN FINDING Light the stairs ahead of Dadi so she can climb them. Hold your torch steady on the lineman's work while he fixes the transformer. Light a candle where the wind cannot reach it. LITTLE SURPRISES Mosquitoes crowd a still beam and dim it, so keep it moving. Lightning shows the whole room for a blink. A chipkali freezes on the wall, then darts away. The torch's battery runs down as you search; when it flickers, give it a smack. NIGHT AFTER NIGHT Play night after night, each one made new. Earn stars by bringing the light back with battery to spare. BRIGHTER DARK On a dim screen or in bright daylight, switch on Brighter dark from the title or the pause menu. FAIR WITH ADS No ads while you play. After your first few nights, a short ad may appear between nights. No account, no sign-up, and it plays without a network. Every room, every character and every flicker of the torch is drawn in code, by a small studio in India.
