Not a git client, just a GitHub client. I wanted to use it for a Gitea project but it's not even possible to start the app without logging into GitHub and I couldn't find the option to add a 3rd Party Git Repo even though this app is described as a "GitHub AND git client"

Thanks for the feedback. GitPocket is built around GitHub the login provides the token, and github.com is currently the only supported remote. Linking an existing local repo does exist, but only from inside a repo in your list, so it wouldn't have helped for Gitea. We've noted other hosts as a wish.
