Location is more reliable. Glean waits longer for a GPS fix, uses your Wi-Fi position if GPS is slow, and tells you exactly what to change (permission, the Location setting, or just try again) when it still cannot find you.
Find food banks, shelters and crisis lines near you. Share extra food nearby.
Glean helps you find food and shelter near you, and share what you don't need with people nearby. NOT A GOVERNMENT APP Glean is an independent app made by QuantaCore Labs. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any government or government agency. Glean does not run 911, 988 or 211; the call buttons dial those public numbers from your phone. FIND HELP NEAR YOU, NO ACCOUNT NEEDED See food banks, shelters, pantries, meal programs and crisis services around you, with hours, phone numbers and directions. Listings come from Google Maps and can change, so call before you go. CRISIS LINES IN ONE TAP Call crisis and emergency lines for your country, including 911, 988 and 211 in Canada and the United States. A First 72 Hours checklist walks you through what to do if you've just lost your housing. WORKS WHEN THE SIGNAL DROPS Glean keeps a copy of the places near you on your phone, marked with the time it was saved, so you can still find a phone number or an address with no connection. Save any place to keep it handy. SHARE WHAT YOU DON'T NEED Post extra food or things you can't use, and someone nearby can claim them. You name a public place to meet, the map pin is rounded to about a kilometre unless you choose otherwise, and a handoff code keeps pickups honest. You can report any post or person and block anyone, and reports reach a person. MY ACTIVITY See what you've posted and whether it's been claimed, what you're picking up, your saved places and your completed handoffs. HONEST BY DESIGN Glean never shows made-up numbers. Bed counts appear only when a verified organization posts them, and each one shows when it was posted. An optional AI guide (18 and over) can answer questions about what's nearby. It tells you what it sends before you use it, it's clearly labelled, and it can be switched off. Food banks, shelters and community groups can apply for a verified account to post bed availability and bulk surplus. Glean confirms every organization by phone first. Glean is free, has no ads, and never sells your information.
