Welcome to the new era
A Modern and Inspirational single screen launcher
After almost a 5 year hiatus, no updates and a broken vision, GCA Launcher is back with version 3! As an android user, I have personally been with the platform since the beginning. I have been tinkering and providing customization to my followers since 2011 and in Version 3, you could see we re-invented the wheel. This is GCA Launcher as i originally envisioned it. With a complete rewrite from the ground up, this is one of the very few premium launchers to be built with Jetpack Compose. Being that the case, this launcher will feel new, different and exciting again versus all of those pixel launcher clones in the playstore. This new project brings new tech to your homescreen, new infrastructure that was designed to run a launcher of its status, optimized for a number of modernized devices and even older devices (this includes devices from times of old with a heartbeat of custom roms). Tablets, Foldables, phone of big or small. I've taken old premium features and made them feel new and exciting. I've designed a homescreen that can be used in many different ways. Sheets return as panes, gestures return with secrets to be discovered, an app drawer that's designed to bring information to you and icons that are brilliantly smart and beautiful to your eyes. The Single screen home launcher experience returns with enhanced widget support. Drag and drop your widgets in the correct placement, resize them to your like, apply custom backgrounds and watch them interact with the world around you. Your dock has been supercharged with new customization, drag and drop functionality, folder support and recent app shortcuts inspired by pixel launcher. Use any 1 x 4 widget to your liking as an anchored dock widget or use GCA Launchers new searchbar or new tech like Prism. Your app drawer provides a fast search option, a fastscroller with several different options of style, group filtering, recent actions and a homebrew recent apps driver. Users can select and choose up to 5+ panes that can be anchored to the side of your homescreen. These are called panes (previously sheets). These panes offer exclusive spaces that allow you to interact with news, apps, groups, widgets and more. If these spaces are to much for you, than just disable them and make life easy. Icons have evolved to support up to 4 different styles. Including a remastered monochrome style, a new gradience style, an inspired pixel style and stock icons. Take to the controls as you can modify icons by batch, edit icons individually, take control of their shapes, sizes and badge styles. Apply an icon pack if you want to cover up those messy and weird looking oem icons. Heck, add 2 icon packs if you want, maybe 3? What's to many? Use the Carpenter app to craft personalized icons and local icon packs and use them on your homescreen. Launcher customization comes with options inspired by the past, present and future. Change colors, choose color schemes, adjust gesture input and pointer calibration. Toggle inputs, adjust color usage, adjust pane settings, disable things. whatever we could cram into the box, you can do. GCA Launcher now supports Shizuku. Unlock new app actions and gesture actions when the service is up and running on your device. Be mindful of the powers it unlocks for you and take care of your device. GCA Launcher is now embedded Smart Spacer's client side sdk. With the combination of Shizuku and Smart Spacer, a new pane will unlock for you to provide you a newsfeed of widgets and information powered by Smart Spacer. No need for that honking widget on your homescreen. Documentation of how this service works will be provided in the maintenance section of the launcher settings. Minimal permissions required for this experience.
