Good chess player with lots of levels. Good 2D graphics and a range of board colours. I'm not bothered about having a 3D display as it doesn't affect the quality of the play.

Terrible AI & Pacing: The "Level 10" bot plays erratic, nonsense moves and traps the game in endless piece-shuffling loops, all while making you wait up to 3 agonizing minutes per turn. Verdict: Completely unplayable and broken—skip this app entirely if you want a smooth, fast chess experience.

Level 10 literally says 180 seconds per move. You can change the level and even the engine if you want with this app. Give it a try before trying to encourage others not to use the app 😂
I love it!

I am using this program to connect to DGT electronic boards by USB. For this purpose it works well. I can connect to my mobile phone with powered and unpowered DGT boards. I need to disconnect the engine during tournaments to avoid suspicion of cheating. Overall my experience is good.

Re: Network engines do work, however there are 2 caveats. 1) if the network is lost, it will switch to the internal engine 2) it will use the first network interface so if you have all traffic going through a VPN, VPN must be off. Still a bit obtuse, but learnable and does what I want. As far as I know, this + winlator + windows UCI engine + Wallner's netchess server is the ONLY way to run Rodent IV locally on-phone and have personalities work properly while connecting to a real board. 5 stars.
I am probably a permanent chess noob, love learning, and I like this app a lot. I have been playing this app on and off for years. Maybe since one of my early phones. Various levels, ability to help on a move. No ads and free!
