TipDial works out the tip and the split while you are still holding the card reader. Type the bill, pick a rate, done. There is no Calculate button and nothing to dismiss first. ROUNDING THAT ACTUALLY LANDS ON A WHOLE DOLLAR Round up or round down and the total lands on a whole dollar, though rounding down never goes below what you owe. A $23.47 bill rounds to exactly $29.00, not $29.01, and the app tells you what percent that turned out to be. OR JUST NAME THE TOTAL Switch to Set Total, type what you want to hand over, and TipDial works backwards to the tip and the percent. Useful when you want the receipt to read a round number. TIP ON THE FOOD, NOT ON THE TAX Enter the sales tax separately and choose whether the tip is calculated on the bill or on the bill plus tax. Pre tax is the default. This is free. ANY PERCENTAGE YOU LIKE Presets at 10, 15, 18, 20, 25 and 30 percent, and a box beside them where you can type any figure from 0 to 100, including 17.5. No ceiling at 30, no upgrade prompt for typing your own number. A SPLIT THAT ADDS UP Split evenly by any number of people and the last cent goes somewhere instead of vanishing. Split $11.80 three ways and TipDial says 1 pays $3.94, 2 pay $3.93, so the money on the table matches the bill. SHARE IT, SAVE IT, LOOK IT UP Send the whole breakdown to anyone through the usual share sheet. Save a calculation and the History tab keeps it, with running totals for tips paid, average tip percent and total spent. Long press an entry to delete it, or clear the lot. IT ALSO SPEAKS COMMAS Type 12,50 and TipDial reads twelve fifty, not one thousand two hundred fifty. Type 1,250 and it reads one thousand two hundred fifty.
