Get starting speeds, feeds and RPM for milling, turning and drilling in seconds.
FeedForge gets you a starting speed, feed, and RPM in the time it takes to walk from the vise to the control panel. Pick a material, pick a tool diameter, and read off a number you can actually start cutting with, instead of hunting through a dog-eared reference chart or guessing from the last job that sort of matched.
WHAT IT CALCULATES
- Speeds and feeds: RPM, feed rate, and chip load shown as a range (minimum, typical, maximum), not a single number that pretends your setup is perfect
- Chip thinning: automatic correction when you enter a smaller radial engagement, so light finishing passes don't come out under-fed
- Material removal rate and horsepower: know before you commit whether a cut is realistic for your spindle
- Tap drill sizes: decimal result plus the nearest standard drill (number, letter, or fraction) instead of a bare number you have to round yourself
- Bolt circle layout: enter hole count and diameter, get exact coordinates with a visual diagram, no more triangulating with a calculator and a protractor
BUILT ON REAL DATA
Every material in the reference table comes from an openly licensed cutting data source, not numbers someone guessed and typed in. Attribution is shown in the app's open source screen. Results are framed as a conservative starting point you dial in from, with the range shown so you know how much room you have before you go too aggressive.
STANDARD VERSION
The core calculator, a set of common materials, and your last few saved jobs are included, with no ads anywhere in the app. There's nothing to watch, nothing that interrupts a calculation.
WHAT PRO UNLOCKS
Pro opens the full material reference table instead of a partial one, unlimited job history so you can look back at what worked on a similar part months later, custom material profiles for anything not in the built-in list, and CSV export so your numbers can leave the app and go into a router table or job traveler. It's a single one-time purchase, not a subscription, so paying once covers everything Pro adds later too.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does FeedForge work without an internet connection?
Yes. The material data and every calculation are built into the app itself, so it works the same at the machine with no signal as it does anywhere else.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks the full material list, unlimited history, custom materials, and CSV export permanently, with no recurring charge.
Where does the material data come from?
It's sourced from an openly licensed cutting data reference, not invented numbers. Full attribution is available in the app's open source screen.
Why does it show a range instead of one number?
Real cutting conditions vary with rigidity, tool condition, and coolant, so a single "correct" number would be misleading. The range gives you a safe starting point and room to push toward the aggressive end as conditions allow.
Can I save materials that aren't in the built-in list?
Yes, with Pro. Custom material profiles let you enter your own cutting data for anything outside the standard reference table and reuse it on future jobs.
Does it handle both metric and imperial units?
Yes. Speeds, feeds, tap drills, and bolt circle layouts all work in either unit system depending on what your job calls for.
FeedForge is built for the moment you're standing at the machine and just need a number to start with.
