IMPORTANT NOTICE & DISCLAIMER FOR USERS AND GOOGLE PLAY: This app is NOT an official application of the Indonesian police (Korlantas Polri), Samsat, Indonesian ministries, BSN or the U.S. NHTSA, and it is NOT affiliated with any vehicle manufacturer or dealer. It does not connect to any government database and cannot check a vehicle's registration, ownership, tax or authenticity. All manufacturer, brand and model names are shown for reference only and belong to their respective owners. Results may be incomplete or wrong; always rely on the official vehicle documents and the authorities. INFORMATION SOURCES & REFERENCES: The frame number structure follows the ISO 3779/ISO 3780 VIN standard, also used by Indonesian standard SNI 09-1411 (Vehicle Identification Number). Manufacturer codes come from public NHTSA data (https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/), Wikipedia and Wikibooks. Honda motorcycle type codes come from an authorized dealer's catalogue; other model and engine patterns from public government auction and inventory documents. --- Ever wondered what the 17 characters of your VIN (frame number) mean? Which factory built your car or motorcycle, what type it is and which model year? Check VIN & Engine Number decodes your frame number and engine number in seconds. Did you know? A VIN is not a random number. The first three characters show the country and manufacturer, digits 4 to 8 are the type code, digit 9 is the check digit, digit 10 is the model year code, digit 11 is the assembly plant code and digits 12 to 17 are the production serial number. KEY FEATURES: 1. VIN Decoder for Cars and Motorcycles Type the 17-character frame number and tap Search. See the manufacturer, country of assembly, vehicle type, estimated model and model year, with the meaning of every digit. 2. Engine Number Check Type the engine number to see the engine type code and its description, such as engine size and fuel type. Coverage is best for Honda motorcycles and broad for popular car engines in Indonesia. 3. Frame and Engine Match Fill in both to see whether the engine code fits the frame number according to the reference data. This is only a first hint, never proof. 4. Check Digit and Typo Correction The letters O, Q and I are never used in a VIN, so they are read as 0 and 1 automatically. The check digit (digit 9) is calculated with the standard formula. 5. Light, Bilingual, No Internet Needed for Checks The data is stored on your phone, so checks work without a signal. Clean black-and-white design in English and Indonesian. Numbers you type are not stored and are not sent to any server. WHAT CAN BE DECODED? - Manufacturer and country of assembly (more than 14,000 manufacturer codes) - Vehicle type: motorcycle, car or truck - Estimated model from the type code (reference only) - Model year from digit 10 - Check digit, assembly plant code, production serial number and the last 5 digits - Engine type code with description, and the engine serial number - Short frame numbers (Japanese-market imports and older vehicles) WHO IS THIS APP FOR? - Car and motorcycle owners who want to understand the frame and engine numbers in their registration documents. - Used vehicle buyers who want to compare the frame number, engine number and year with the documents before an official inspection. - Mechanics, workshops and parts sellers who need to know the motorcycle or engine type. - Anyone who wants to learn how to read a VIN.
