Lexical is a daily word game where you guess the hidden word by its meaning, not its letters. Every guess says how close you are, and two good guesses corner the answer between them. A new word puzzle every day in English and in French, with no account, no ads, and it all works offline. THE BRACKET Play two words. When the answer is nearer to both of them than the two of them are to each other, it is caught between them — and Lexical says so. It names the pair, marks where between them the answer sits, and counts every word in the language that is still inside that bracket. That count is the game. It opens at 33,272 words in English and 20,542 in French. A loose bracket leaves thousands of them in play; a tighter pair takes the same run to ninety, and then to nine. You are not fishing for a warmer word — you are closing a box, and you can watch it close. Two words that both looked cold on their own can still close a bracket around the answer. And when no pair of your words contains it, Lexical tells you that too — every word you have played is on the same side of it — which is a reason to look somewhere else, not a score to feel bad about. HOW HARD TODAY IS, BEFORE YOUR FIRST WORD The whole vocabulary is ranked against the answer the moment the day opens, so Lexical can measure how crowded the region around it is and show it on the board: gentle, standard or tricky, measured from each language's own schedule. TWO WORDS A DAY, IN TWO LANGUAGES An English word and a French word, from two different vocabularies, each with its own statistics and its own streak. One tap moves between them, and solving one does not solve the other. Yesterday's answer is always one tap away, so a day you did not finish never stays a mystery. PLAYS OFFLINE Both vocabularies and every scheduled day ship inside the app. A guess is scored on your phone, identically for every player, with no account and no connection needed. No ads, no analytics, no sign-in. A PAGE, NOT A DASHBOARD Lexical is set like a printed dictionary: two book faces, ruled columns, true small capitals, a light and a dark paper. Large text, TalkBack and reduced motion are supported throughout. IF YOU LIKE DAILY WORD PUZZLES This one is about meaning, not spelling. There is no letter grid and no five-letter limit: any word in the vocabulary is a legal guess, and a guess is judged by how close it sits to the answer in meaning. It is a word guessing game, a quiet brain game and a vocabulary game at once — one daily word to think over with a coffee, in English, in French, or in both.
